Align your credentials to U.S. accounting standards
Cardinal Health's accounting roles require familiarity with U.S. GAAP and, for many positions, active progress toward a CPA license. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from NACES to confirm equivalency before applying.
Target Cardinal Health's finance shared services roles
Cardinal Health consolidates much of its accounting work through shared services centers. Roles in those centers, covering general ledger, intercompany reconciliation, and close processes, have the clearest sponsorship precedent for F-1 OPT and H-1B candidates.
Find Cardinal Health accounting openings on Migrate Mate
Browse open Accountant positions at Cardinal Health using Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for visa-sponsoring employers in distribution and healthcare. You can search by role type and sponsorship history to prioritize applications.
Understand how Cardinal Health structures the LCA filing
For H-1B sponsorship, your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the I-129 petition to USCIS. The LCA certifies your offered wage meets the prevailing rate for your specific accounting role and work location.
Ask about PERM sponsorship timelines during the offer stage
Cardinal Health has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for accounting staff. During offer negotiation, ask directly whether the role is eligible for permanent residence sponsorship and what the company's typical timeline looks like from hire to PERM filing.

Find Accountant at Cardinal Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Cardinal Health sponsor H-1B visas for Accountants?
Yes, Cardinal Health sponsors H-1B visas for Accountant roles. Accounting positions typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS guidelines because they require at minimum a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Cardinal Health has sponsored H-1B petitions across its finance and shared services functions, including general ledger, cost accounting, and financial reporting roles.
Which visa types does Cardinal Health sponsor for Accountant roles?
Cardinal Health sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT visas for accounting roles, and has pursued EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for longer-tenured staff. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying accounting occupations. F-1 CPT and OPT are common entry points for recent graduates before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
What qualifications does Cardinal Health expect for sponsored Accountant positions?
Most Cardinal Health Accountant roles require a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and many postings prefer or require active CPA candidacy or licensure. Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP or Oracle, is frequently listed. Roles in cost accounting or financial reporting may require additional experience in distribution, supply chain, or healthcare industry contexts to be competitive.
How do I apply for Accountant jobs at Cardinal Health?
You can search and apply for Cardinal Health Accountant openings directly through Cardinal Health's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which surfaces visa-sponsoring accounting roles filtered by employer and sponsorship history. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight U.S. GAAP experience, any ERP proficiency, and your current visa status and work authorization timeline so the hiring team can assess sponsorship fit early.
How do I manage the H-1B timeline when starting an Accountant role at Cardinal Health?
H-1B petitions for cap-subject roles must be filed in April for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT and your authorization expires before October 1, Cardinal Health can request a cap-gap extension, which allows you to remain authorized while the petition is pending. Confirm your work authorization end date with HR early in the offer process so there's enough runway to file before the April registration window opens.
