Align your background with distribution verticals
Cardinal Health hires Sales professionals across pharmaceutical, medical-surgical, and specialty distribution segments. Frame your resume around revenue generation, account management, or channel sales experience in healthcare, life sciences, or supply chain to match their core business lines.
Target roles specifying sponsorship eligibility
Cardinal Health posts Sales roles at territory representative, strategic accounts, and national accounts levels. Filter job listings by roles that explicitly state visa sponsorship is available, since sponsorship policies can vary by business unit and seniority within large healthcare distributors.
Use Migrate Mate to surface sponsorship-verified openings
Searching broadly across job boards won't tell you which Sales postings at Cardinal Health are realistically open to sponsored candidates. Migrate Mate filters specifically for visa-sponsoring employers so you can prioritize applications where sponsorship is confirmed rather than assumed.
Clarify OPT or CPT timing with your recruiter early
If you're on F-1 OPT, the 60-day grace period leaves no room for delays between offer acceptance and your start date. Confirm with Cardinal Health's recruiter whether your authorization type and remaining OPT duration meet their onboarding timeline before advancing to final rounds.
Understand how H-1B cap timing affects your start date
H-1B cap-subject petitions filed for the October 1 start date mean you could be interviewing in the fall but not starting until the following fiscal year. Cardinal Health's HR teams in healthcare distribution are familiar with this cycle, so surface the timeline conversation before your offer letter is drafted.
Prepare a compliant work history for PERM documentation
If Cardinal Health pursues EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship for a Sales role, DOL's PERM process requires verifiable employment records proving you meet the minimum qualifications. Organize your offer letters, W-2s or foreign equivalents, and employment verification letters before the petition process begins.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Cardinal Health sponsor H-1B visas for Sales roles?
Yes, Cardinal Health sponsors H-1B visas for Sales positions, particularly at the territory representative and strategic accounts levels. Sponsorship availability can vary by business unit within their pharmaceutical and medical-surgical distribution divisions, so confirming sponsorship eligibility directly with the recruiter during the screening stage is the most reliable approach.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at Cardinal Health?
You can apply directly through Cardinal Health's careers portal or find sponsorship-confirmed openings through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for employers with a demonstrated history of visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your materials to highlight sales performance metrics, account growth, or distribution channel experience relevant to healthcare supply chain or pharmaceutical sales.
Which visa types does Cardinal Health commonly use for Sales hires?
Cardinal Health supports H-1B sponsorship, F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning into Sales roles, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Sales occupations, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-tenured employees. The visa type pursued typically depends on your nationality, degree field, and the specific Sales role you're hired into.
What qualifications does Cardinal Health expect for sponsored Sales positions?
Most Cardinal Health Sales roles require a bachelor's degree, often in business, life sciences, or a related field, combined with demonstrated sales experience or a track record in account management. Roles in pharmaceutical or specialty distribution frequently prefer candidates with familiarity in healthcare or regulated industry sales environments, though entry-level territory representative roles exist for recent graduates with strong academic credentials.
How do I plan my timeline if Cardinal Health agrees to sponsor my visa?
If you're entering on H-1B, the cap lottery runs in March with an October 1 start date, meaning your offer acceptance and USCIS filing need to align months in advance. For OPT extensions or TN renewals, USCIS and border processing timelines of several weeks to a few months should factor into your planned start date. Align these milestones with Cardinal Health's HR team at the offer stage to avoid gaps in work authorization.
