Align your credentials to state licensure requirements
Many Technician roles at Cardinal Health, especially in pharmacy distribution, require state-specific technician licensure or PTCB certification. Confirm your credentials are transferable or obtainable before applying, since sponsorship timelines depend on your eligibility to work immediately upon approval.
Target Cardinal Health's distribution center postings
Cardinal Health's Technician openings cluster around their pharmaceutical distribution and medical segment operations. Filtering by distribution center locations rather than corporate offices puts you in front of roles where hands-on technical skills, not just academic background, drive hiring decisions.
Browse open Technician roles through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Cardinal Health's active Technician postings by visa type, so you're only reviewing positions where sponsorship is confirmed rather than guessing from a generic job listing.
Clarify OPT and CPT eligibility before your first interview
Cardinal Health sponsors both F-1 OPT and CPT for Technician roles, but the timeline matters. If your OPT authorization window is short, come prepared to discuss the gap between your start date and when a longer-term H-1B or TN petition could be filed.
Understand how TN status applies to your background
Canadian and Mexican nationals in technical fields may qualify for TN status, which Cardinal Health sponsors and which avoids the H-1B lottery entirely. Confirm your specific Technician role maps to a qualifying TN occupation category before relying on this path in your offer negotiation.
Ask about PERM timing during the offer stage
Cardinal Health sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for certain Technician roles, but PERM labor certification adds significant lead time. Confirm early whether the role qualifies and when the employer typically initiates the process so you can plan your long-term status accordingly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Cardinal Health sponsor H-1B visas for Technicians?
Yes, Cardinal Health sponsors H-1B visas for Technician roles. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are subject to an annual lottery, timing your application cycle matters. Cardinal Health's distribution and pharmacy operations include roles that meet the specialty occupation standard, but confirm with the recruiting team that your specific position qualifies before counting on H-1B as your primary path.
How do I apply for Technician jobs at Cardinal Health?
Applications go through Cardinal Health's careers portal, where Technician roles are listed by location and business segment. Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point to identify which open Technician positions at Cardinal Health include visa sponsorship, saving you from applying to roles where sponsorship isn't available. From there, apply directly through the company's official site.
Which visa types does Cardinal Health commonly sponsor for Technician roles?
Cardinal Health sponsors H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Technician positions. TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals and bypasses the H-1B lottery. OPT and CPT are common entry points for international students transitioning into full-time Technician roles within Cardinal Health's distribution and pharmacy divisions.
What qualifications does Cardinal Health expect for sponsored Technician roles?
Requirements vary by segment. Pharmacy Technician roles typically require PTCB or ExCPT certification and state licensure where applicable. Distribution and supply chain Technician roles may prioritize hands-on technical or equipment experience over a formal degree. For H-1B eligibility, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, which generally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Cardinal Health Technician offer?
Timeline depends on visa type. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border on the same day with the right documentation. H-1B petitions follow USCIS processing timelines, with standard processing running several months and premium processing available for faster adjudication. Green Card sponsorship via PERM adds several years to the overall timeline and typically begins after you've established tenure in the role.
