Frame your credentials around U.S. accounting standards
Cardinal Health's Finance teams work heavily within GAAP-based reporting and SOX compliance frameworks. If your credentials are from outside the U.S., get a formal equivalency evaluation so hiring managers can immediately place your qualifications within the standards they use daily.
Target supply chain finance roles specifically
Cardinal Health's core business is pharmaceutical and medical distribution, so Finance roles tied to procurement, inventory valuation, or logistics cost analysis align directly with operational needs. These positions tend to see more consistent hiring than purely corporate roles and can be stronger sponsorship candidates.
Start your OPT job search at least four months early
F-1 students on OPT have a limited authorization window. Cardinal Health's hiring process for Finance roles typically involves multiple interview rounds and internal approvals. Beginning your search well before OPT expires gives you realistic time to clear the full process.
Confirm H-1B cap-subject timing before accepting an offer
If you're not currently in H-1B status, Cardinal Health would need to register you in USCIS's March lottery. Understand where you are in that cycle before signing anything, so there's no gap between your OPT cap-out date and a potential October 1 H-1B start.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Finance openings by sponsorship type
Cardinal Health posts Finance roles across multiple channels, but not all listings surface sponsorship eligibility clearly. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for roles where Cardinal Health is actively sponsoring, saving time you'd otherwise spend confirming eligibility role by role.
Prepare for PERM documentation well before your third year
If Cardinal Health moves you toward a Green Card via EB-2 or EB-3, the PERM labor certification process through DOL requires extensive employer documentation and recruitment records. Raise the green card conversation with HR early so the employer-side groundwork isn't rushed against your status clock.

Find Finance at Cardinal Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Cardinal Health sponsor H-1B visas for Finance roles?
Yes, Cardinal Health sponsors H-1B visas for Finance positions. The company participates in the annual USCIS H-1B registration process, so cap-subject candidates need to be registered in the March lottery window with an October 1 start date in mind. Finance roles in FP&A, treasury, and supply chain finance have historically been part of the company's sponsored portfolio.
How do I apply for Finance jobs at Cardinal Health?
Applications go through Cardinal Health's careers portal, where Finance roles are listed by function and location. You can also find Cardinal Health Finance openings filtered by sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where the company is actively open to sponsoring. Tailor your resume to highlight GAAP proficiency, financial modeling, and any distribution or healthcare industry exposure.
Which visa types does Cardinal Health commonly sponsor for Finance positions?
Cardinal Health sponsors H-1B visas for specialty occupation Finance roles and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students in active authorization periods. The company also files for TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Finance roles. For longer-term pathways, Cardinal Health has pursued EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for Finance professionals moving toward permanent residency.
What qualifications does Cardinal Health typically expect for sponsored Finance roles?
Most Finance positions at Cardinal Health require a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, with advanced roles expecting an MBA or CPA credential. Given the company's distribution and wholesale operations, experience with cost accounting, supply chain finance, or healthcare sector reporting is a practical differentiator. SOX compliance familiarity is commonly referenced in mid-level and senior postings.
How does the sponsorship process timeline work for Finance hires at Cardinal Health?
For H-1B candidates, Cardinal Health initiates the USCIS registration in March, with employment starting October 1 if selected. OPT candidates can start sooner if authorization is current. PERM-based Green Card filings through DOL typically take one to two years for labor certification alone, so it's worth aligning expectations with your HR contact early in the employment relationship.
