Align your credentials with U.S. accounting standards
Hilton's finance teams operate under U.S. GAAP. If your accounting background is from Australia, the UK, or India, document how your qualifications map to U.S. standards, since credential mismatches are a common reason offers stall before sponsorship conversations begin.
Target Hilton's corporate and regional finance openings
Hilton posts Accountant roles across both property-level and corporate finance functions. Corporate and regional positions are more likely to come with H-1B sponsorship than single-property roles, so filter your search toward headquarters and regional support centers.
Search open Hilton Accountant roles on Migrate Mate
Hilton lists Accountant openings across multiple locations and finance functions. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles where Hilton has a documented sponsorship history, so you're applying where your visa situation is already a known quantity.
Understand how the H-1B lottery affects your application timeline
H-1B registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. If Hilton extends an offer in the fall or winter, your start date will likely be deferred by months. Confirm with the recruiter early that they'll support a delayed start tied to the cap cycle.
Clarify sponsorship scope before accepting an offer
Some Hilton Accountant offers include H-1B sponsorship but not Green Card sponsorship through PERM. Ask your recruiter or the HR team directly whether their standard sponsorship package includes employer-sponsored permanent residency support, not just initial visa filing.
Prepare for DOL prevailing wage requirements in your target city
Hilton properties operate in high-cost markets like New York, San Francisco, and Washington D.C. The DOL sets prevailing wages for Accountant roles by metropolitan area, so verify the offered salary meets or exceeds the prevailing wage level before your petition is filed.

Does Hilton sponsor H-1B visas for Accountants?
Hilton does sponsor H-1B visas for Accountant roles, though sponsorship is more common for corporate and regional finance positions than for property-level accounting staff. H-1B petitions are subject to the annual cap and lottery, so timing matters. Confirming sponsorship intent early in the interview process is the most reliable way to avoid surprises.
How do I apply for Accountant jobs at Hilton?
Applications go through Hilton's careers site, where you can filter by job function and location. Migrate Mate also lists open Hilton Accountant roles and lets you browse by sponsorship history, which helps you focus on positions where visa support is a realistic outcome. Tailor your resume to U.S. GAAP experience and any hospitality-sector finance background you have.
Which visa types does Hilton commonly use for Accountant roles?
The H-1B is the most common visa Hilton uses for Accountant positions, as accounting qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Hilton has also used the H-2B visa in hospitality contexts, though that classification is not applicable to professional accounting roles. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT are frequently sponsored for H-1B through the cap-exempt change of status route.
What qualifications does Hilton expect for sponsored Accountant roles?
Hilton generally expects a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. CPA licensure or progress toward it is a differentiator for senior-level positions. Familiarity with enterprise accounting systems and experience in hospitality or multi-property finance environments strengthens your application. For H-1B purposes, your degree field must directly relate to the duties of the specific Accountant role.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after Hilton extends an offer?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, Hilton must file your petition by April 1 for an October 1 start, assuming you clear the lottery. From offer to start date can be six months or longer depending on timing in the cap cycle. USCIS standard processing typically runs three to five months, though premium processing can reduce adjudication to roughly two to three weeks for an additional fee.
