Frame your credentials around U.S. hotel development cycles
Hilton's business development directors work on full-service and select-service hotel pipelines. Translate your international deal experience into U.S. hotel terminology, feasibility studies, franchise agreements, RevPAR projections, before your application lands on a recruiter's desk.
Target Hilton's regional development offices directly
Hilton staffs business development directors regionally, not just at McLean headquarters. Research which regional office covers the markets you specialize in and tailor your outreach there, since sponsorship decisions are often made at the regional level before corporate HR gets involved.
Clarify H-2B scope before assuming it covers your role
H-2B is designed for temporary non-agricultural workers in roles tied to seasonal or peak-load demand. A Business Development Director is typically a specialty occupation, so confirm with Hilton's HR team whether your specific role is filed under a different visa category before accepting any offer.
Time your application ahead of Hilton's pipeline announcement cycles
Hilton typically announces new development pipelines and market expansion plans at industry conferences like the Americas Lodging Investment Summit. Applying in the weeks following these announcements positions you when headcount approvals for director-level development roles are freshest.
Get your offer letter reviewed before USCIS petition prep
Once Hilton extends an offer, verify the job duties listed in your offer letter match the specialty occupation criteria USCIS uses for H-1B petitions. Misalignment between the offer letter and the I-129 petition is a common reason for requests for evidence in director-level cases.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Hilton openings by region
Business development roles at Hilton open inconsistently across regions and rarely stay posted long. Use Migrate Mate to filter for open Business Development Director positions at Hilton that explicitly include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to live roles, not outdated listings.

Find Business Development Director at Hilton JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hilton sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Directors?
Hilton does sponsor work visas for Business Development Director roles, but the visa type depends on the specific position and your nationality. H-1B is the most common pathway for specialty occupation roles at this level. Because H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, Hilton's recruiting timelines for international candidates often align with the April filing window. Confirm the visa category with Hilton's HR team when you receive an offer.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Development Director roles at Hilton?
H-1B is the primary visa category for Business Development Director roles at Hilton, given the specialty occupation requirements tied to hotel development, owner relations, and market strategy. H-2B, which Hilton uses for temporary and seasonal roles, is generally not applicable at the director level. Candidates from Australia may explore the E-3, and Canadian or Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa for certain business development functions.
What qualifications and experience does Hilton expect for Business Development Director roles?
Hilton's business development directors are typically expected to hold a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, real estate, finance, or a related field, with several years of hotel development or investment experience. Familiarity with franchise and management agreement structures, owner relationships, and feasibility modeling is consistently reflected in Hilton's job postings for this function. Experience in the specific region you're targeting strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How do I apply for Business Development Director jobs at Hilton?
Applications go through Hilton's careers portal, but roles at the director level move quickly and aren't always widely advertised. Migrate Mate is a practical starting point to find current Business Development Director openings at Hilton that include visa sponsorship. From there, you apply directly through Hilton's system, ensuring your resume reflects U.S. hotel development terminology and your eligibility for sponsorship is clear from the outset.
How do I know if Hilton will sponsor my specific visa category before I apply?
Hilton's job postings don't always specify which visa categories they sponsor for a given role. The most reliable approach is to raise visa sponsorship directly with the recruiter after initial screening but before a formal offer. For H-1B roles, Hilton's HR and legal teams manage the I-129 petition filing with USCIS, so they can confirm early whether the position qualifies and whether the timing aligns with the annual cap filing window.
