Overview
As members of the People & Places organization, we are stewards of Intuit's greatest strategic asset: our people. Intuit's Executive Recruiting team is made up of the best in the industry — and we hold ourselves to that standard every day. We move fast, think strategically, and are relentlessly focused on identifying, assessing, and hiring the leadership talent that powers Intuit's growth and helps our employees do the best work of their lives.
Responsibilities
The Role
This is not a coordination role. As a Principal Executive Recruiter at Intuit, you are a business accelerant. You bring a rare combination: deep fluency in the executive talent market, the ability to assess leaders with precision, and the influencing skills to move both candidates and senior business partners toward great decisions. You run searches with pace and purpose — leveraging AI and modern tools to compress timelines without sacrificing quality. You manage executive searches across specific functions and you do it at a level that shapes outcomes for the company. You will be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, a sharp assessor of talent, and a recruiter who knows how to close. You'll bring an informed point of view — on market dynamics, on candidates, and on what great leadership looks like — and use it to help Intuit win.
Drive search velocity and outcomes
- Lead full-lifecycle executive searches with a bias toward speed, quality, and diverse slates
- Leverage AI tools and modern sourcing technology to accelerate pipeline development, reduce time-to-slate, and drive outsized results
- Build and execute proactive sourcing strategies across disciplines — reaching talent before the need is urgent
Operate as a strategic talent advisor
- Partner with senior leaders and hiring managers to deeply understand business strategy, organizational design, and the leadership talent required to execute
- Bring informed market intelligence — on competitor moves, talent availability, and compensation trends — that shapes how searches are scoped and run
- Coach hiring managers on assessment, structured interviewing, and the long-term engagement of passive talent
Assess and close with precision
- Apply rigorous, evidence-based assessment approaches to evaluate executive candidates across leadership competencies, functional expertise, and culture fit
- Lead offer negotiations with confidence — structuring deals that are competitive, equitable, and aligned to Intuit's total rewards philosophy
- Create candidate experiences that reflect the caliber of company and role we're representing
Elevate the team
- Contribute to operational excellence through ownership of team-level strategic projects
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion at every stage of the search process
- Serve as a mentor and thought partner to peers across the broader talent acquisition organization
Qualifications
What You Bring
- 10+ years of recruiting experience with significant depth in executive search — agency, in-house, or both
- A track record of hiring exceptional, diverse leaders at the Director-level and above
- Deep knowledge of the external talent landscape — who the key players are, where they sit, and what it takes to move them
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and business leaders through credibility, market insight, and clear thinking
- Hands-on experience using AI tools and recruiting technology to accelerate search timelines and improve outcomes
- Strong assessment instincts — you know what great looks like and can articulate why
- High business acumen and communication skills sharp enough to hold both a room of senior leaders and a skeptical candidate
- Experience in SaaS or high-growth technology environments strongly preferred

Frame your portfolio around product impact
Intuit's Principal-level hiring prioritizes candidates who can show measurable outcomes across the full product lifecycle. Document your contributions to shipped features, platform architecture decisions, or revenue-driving initiatives before you apply.
Target roles under Intuit's core platforms
Principal positions cluster around TurboTax, QuickBooks, and Credit Karma. Searching by platform rather than just job title surfaces openings that align with your domain expertise and narrows the field to teams actively building.
Clarify your visa category early in interviews
Intuit sponsors multiple visa categories for this role. Naming your current status and target visa in your first recruiter screen prevents late-stage surprises and signals that you understand the process, which matters to hiring teams evaluating sponsorship feasibility.
Align your H-1B timing with Intuit's offer cycle
If you need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, work backward from USCIS's April 1 filing window. Intuit typically moves through final rounds in Q1, so late-stage interviews in February or March give you the tightest runway to get an offer before registration closes.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Principal openings by visa type
Finding roles where sponsorship is confirmed upfront saves significant time at the Principal level. Migrate Mate lets you filter Intuit's open Principal positions by the visa categories they sponsor, so you're only pursuing roles where your status is already workable.

Does Intuit sponsor H-1B visas for Principals?
Yes, Intuit sponsors H-1B visas for Principal-level roles. The company files both cap-subject and cap-exempt petitions depending on the candidate's situation. If you're coming from a university or cap-exempt employer, an H-1B transfer may be available immediately. For cap-subject cases, timing your offer with the annual USCIS registration window in March is important.
How do I apply for Principal jobs at Intuit?
Applications go through Intuit's careers portal, but the Principal-level search can be narrow if you rely on job title alone. Searching by platform (TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma) or function (staff engineer, principal product manager) returns more relevant results. Migrate Mate also aggregates Intuit's Principal openings filtered by visa sponsorship type, which simplifies the search if you have specific status requirements.
Which visa types does Intuit commonly sponsor for Principal roles?
Intuit sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas for Principal positions, along with immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens and skips the H-1B lottery entirely. TN covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying specialty occupations. Which category applies depends on your citizenship and current immigration status.
What qualifications does Intuit expect for Principal-level roles?
Principal roles at Intuit generally require deep expertise in a specific domain (engineering, product, data science, or design) combined with demonstrated cross-functional leadership. Most candidates bring eight or more years of experience, with a clear record of influencing product direction or technical architecture at scale. Intuit's fintech focus means experience in tax, accounting, payments, or small business software is a meaningful differentiator.
How do I understand the visa sponsorship timeline for a Principal offer at Intuit?
Timeline depends heavily on visa category. H-1B cap-subject cases require USCIS lottery selection in April before work can begin. E-3 and TN cases can move faster, often within four to eight weeks of an offer. Green Card sponsorship through PERM can take one to three years depending on your country of birth and priority date. Clarifying your situation with the recruiter at offer stage prevents miscommunication on both sides.
