Translate Your Hospitality Credentials for U.S. Standards
If your food service qualifications come from outside the U.S., document how they align with roles requiring a bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field. Hyatt's corporate HR teams assess degree equivalency when building H-1B petitions.
Target Hyatt's Full-Service and Resort Properties
Hyatt's full-service hotels, Grand Hyatt, and Hyatt Regency properties run larger food and beverage operations with dedicated management headcount. These locations are more likely to have open Food Service Manager roles and established sponsorship workflows than smaller select-service properties.
Search Verified Sponsoring Employers on Migrate Mate
Filter for Food Service Manager openings at Hyatt specifically on Migrate Mate to find roles where visa sponsorship is already confirmed. This saves time you'd otherwise spend cold-applying to properties that handle immigration case-by-case.
Ask About LCA Filing Before Accepting an Offer
Before signing anything, confirm whether Hyatt has already filed a Labor Condition Application with DOL for the role's location and wage level. An approved LCA is a prerequisite to the H-1B petition, and the timeline matters if you're on OPT with a cap-gap window closing.
Use OPT and CPT Strategically to Build Hyatt Experience
Hyatt actively hires F-1 students through internships and OPT placements in food and beverage operations. Getting in on OPT gives you internal visibility and puts you in a stronger position when Hyatt evaluates candidates for H-1B sponsorship in the following lottery cycle.
Understand How Seasonal Demand Affects H-2B Eligibility
Some Hyatt resort and conference properties use H-2B visas to fill seasonal food service roles. If you're targeting a property with strong seasonal peaks, clarify whether the open role is a permanent management position or a temporary one, since H-2B cannot lead to permanent residency.

Find Food Service Manager at Hyatt JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hyatt sponsor H-1B visas for Food Service Managers?
Yes, Hyatt sponsors H-1B visas for Food Service Manager roles, particularly at full-service hotels and resort properties where food and beverage operations are complex enough to require a degreed management professional. The role typically needs to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a directly related field is generally required. Sponsorship is handled through Hyatt's corporate HR and immigration counsel.
How do I apply for Food Service Manager jobs at Hyatt?
You can apply through Hyatt's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which surfaces Hyatt Food Service Manager openings where visa sponsorship is confirmed. When applying, be specific about your food and beverage management experience, including team size, revenue scope, and any multi-outlet responsibility. Properties with larger convention and catering operations tend to have more open headcount and more active sponsorship pipelines.
Which visa types does Hyatt commonly use for Food Service Manager roles?
Hyatt uses H-1B for degreed Food Service Managers in permanent roles, H-2B for seasonal positions at resort properties, and F-1 OPT or CPT for students gaining hospitality management experience. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose food service management background aligns with the applicable USMCA professional category. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways are available for longer-tenured managers moving toward permanent residency.
What qualifications does Hyatt expect for a Food Service Manager with visa sponsorship?
Hyatt typically looks for a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, culinary management, or a closely related field, combined with hands-on experience managing food and beverage teams in a hotel or resort setting. For H-1B sponsorship specifically, the degree needs to be directly tied to the role's duties. Experience managing high-volume outlets, banquet operations, or multi-restaurant properties strengthens your candidacy at full-service Hyatt brands.
How do I time my Food Service Manager job search around the H-1B cap?
H-1B petitions for cap-subject positions must be filed with USCIS in April for an October 1 start date, with registration opening in March. If you're on OPT, confirm your OPT end date and cap-gap eligibility before your job search timeline. Targeting Hyatt properties early in the calendar year gives you and the employer enough lead time to prepare the Labor Condition Application and petition before the filing window opens.
