Frame your credentials for U.S. accounting standards
If your degree is from a non-U.S. institution, get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved service before applying. Aprio hiring managers look for alignment with CPA exam eligibility requirements, so demonstrating your degree meets state board standards gives your application credibility upfront.
Target Aprio's industry-specific advisory practices
Aprio organizes its consulting work around industries like technology, real estate, and professional services. Applying to a practice group that matches your prior client experience, rather than submitting a general application, signals the specialized knowledge Consultant roles actually require.
Clarify your visa status in the application process
When you reach the offer stage, confirm directly with Aprio's HR team whether they'll support EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship for your role level. Accounting firms often tier sponsorship decisions by seniority, so understanding where a Consultant title falls in their policy prevents surprises late in negotiations.
Understand the PERM labor certification timeline
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship requires DOL PERM certification before USCIS filing, a process that typically takes 12 to 18 months on its own. Factor this into your timeline if you're currently on OPT or a visa with a fixed end date.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Consultant roles
Aprio regularly posts Consultant openings across multiple office locations and practice areas. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Aprio positions that align with your accounting background and confirm active sponsorship, so you're applying where there's a real pathway.
Prepare your professional history for LCA wage compliance
DOL Labor Condition Application rules require Aprio to pay you the prevailing wage for your role and location. When negotiating, bring a clear record of your prior titles, responsibilities, and compensation so your role is classified accurately and the LCA reflects the right wage level.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aprio sponsor H-1B visas for Consultants?
Aprio's documented sponsorship activity for Consultant roles is concentrated in employment-based Green Card categories rather than H-1B visa. That said, firms in the accounting and advisory space do sometimes support H-1B transfers for experienced hires. The strongest path to confirming this is to raise it directly with Aprio's recruiting team once you have an offer in hand.
Which visa types are commonly used for Consultant roles at Aprio?
Aprio's sponsorship for Consultant roles has involved EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, both of which lead to a permanent Green Card. EB-2 generally applies to roles requiring an advanced degree or exceptional ability, while EB-3 covers positions requiring at least a bachelor's degree. Both pathways go through DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS petition filing.
What qualifications does Aprio expect for Consultant roles?
Aprio's Consultant positions in accounting and auditing typically require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with progress toward or completion of the CPA exam. Industry-specific experience in areas like tax, audit, or advisory services strengthens an application considerably. For sponsored candidates, your degree must be evaluable as equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree.
How do I apply for Consultant jobs at Aprio?
You can browse and apply for Consultant openings at Aprio directly through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles with confirmed sponsorship activity so you're not guessing about eligibility. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific practice area the role sits in, whether that's audit, tax, or advisory, and be prepared to address your visa status early in the recruiting process.
How do I plan my timeline if Aprio sponsors my Green Card as a Consultant?
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 involves several sequential stages: DOL PERM labor certification, USCIS I-140 petition approval, and then adjustment of status or consular processing. The full process commonly takes two to four years depending on your country of birth and priority date movement. Starting the conversation with Aprio's HR team early in your employment, rather than waiting until your current work authorization expires, gives you the most runway.
