Clarify which entity sponsors your visa
Jobot is a staffing firm, so your day-to-day work may be at a client site while Jobot remains your legal employer of record. Confirm early whether Jobot or the end client files the H-1B petition, since this determines who signs your LCA.
Align your CPA credentials before applying
Many Jobot Accountant postings require or strongly prefer CPA licensure. If your credential was issued outside the U.S., get it evaluated by a NACES-approved agency before your interview so hiring managers can confirm equivalency without delay.
Target placements with multi-year client contracts
Staffing firms can only petition for H-1B status tied to a specific placement. Ask your Jobot recruiter whether the accounting role has a defined contract length, since short-term engagements may not support the three-year H-1B period USCIS requires.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Jobot Accountant openings by visa type
Jobot lists roles across dozens of specializations. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Accountant positions at Jobot that support your visa category, saving you from applying to placements where sponsorship isn't on the table.
Request LCA details before accepting an offer
Your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS touches your H-1B petition. Ask Jobot for the prevailing wage level attached to the posting so you can verify the offered salary meets DOL requirements for your work location.
Time your OPT application around Jobot's placement cycle
F-1 students on OPT have a 60-day unemployment buffer. Because Jobot placements can take two to four weeks to finalize after an offer, apply for OPT through your DSO well before your program end date to protect that buffer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Jobot sponsor H-1B visas for Accountants?
Yes, Jobot has sponsored H-1B visas for Accountant roles. As a staffing and recruiting firm, Jobot acts as the employer of record, which means it files the H-1B petition on your behalf even when you're placed at a client site. Confirm sponsorship availability directly with your recruiter during the initial screening call, since not every placement qualifies.
Which visa types does Jobot commonly sponsor for Accountant roles?
Jobot supports H-1B, F-1 OPT, and TN visa holders for Accountant positions. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose accounting work qualifies under USMCA professional categories. F-1 OPT candidates should confirm the role meets STEM OPT criteria if they're seeking a 24-month extension beyond the initial 12-month authorization period.
How do I apply for Accountant jobs at Jobot?
Applications go through Jobot's recruiter network rather than a traditional ATS. Migrate Mate is the recommended way to browse Jobot Accountant openings filtered by visa sponsorship type. Once you identify a relevant posting, a Jobot recruiter typically reaches out within a few days to assess your credentials, preferred industries, and work authorization status before submitting your profile to clients.
What qualifications does Jobot expect for sponsored Accountant positions?
Most Jobot Accountant roles require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement USCIS uses to evaluate H-1B petitions. CPA licensure or active candidacy is frequently listed as preferred. Industry-specific experience in areas like public accounting, corporate finance, or fund accounting can strengthen your profile for higher-level placements.
How do I manage visa timing when working with a staffing firm like Jobot?
Staffing placements move faster than traditional hires, but H-1B petitions still require a certified LCA from DOL before USCIS filing. Standard USCIS processing runs three to six months, so plan accordingly if you're transitioning from OPT or another status. Premium processing reduces that window to roughly two to three weeks and is worth discussing with Jobot if your current status has a hard end date.
