Align your credential to U.S. CPA standards
KPMG's Tax Senior roles typically require or strongly prefer CPA eligibility. If your accounting credential is from Australia or another country, confirm your degree maps to U.S. CPA exam requirements before applying, as this directly affects how KPMG frames your specialty occupation case.
Target offices with dedicated international tax practices
KPMG offices in New York, Chicago, and San Francisco run active international tax and transfer pricing practices that hire Tax Seniors with cross-border experience. Focusing your applications on these offices increases your chances of landing a role where E-3 and H-1B sponsorship is routine.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Tax Senior openings by sponsorship type
KPMG posts Tax Senior roles across dozens of U.S. locations, but not every posting signals equal sponsorship readiness. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for KPMG tax roles that have a confirmed visa sponsorship history, so you're not guessing from the job description alone.
Time your application around KPMG's recruiting cycles
KPMG hires Tax Seniors heavily in late summer and early fall to align with busy season staffing. If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, applications submitted in this window can support an April USCIS filing, giving your petition the full cap-subject timeline before your intended start date.
Request LCA details before accepting an offer
Before signing, confirm that your KPMG offer letter specifies the work location your employer will use for the Labor Condition Application. KPMG places Tax Seniors at client sites as well as office locations, and the LCA must accurately reflect where you'll actually work to avoid DOL compliance issues.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation proactively
KPMG's immigration team will build your H-1B or E-3 petition, but you'll need to supply transcripts, degree evaluations, and prior tax work evidence quickly. Having a foreign credential evaluation from a NACES-approved organization ready before your offer stage prevents delays in USCIS filing.

Find Tax Senior at KPMG JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Seniors?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Senior roles. Tax Seniors qualify as specialty occupation workers because the position requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, or a related field. KPMG has a dedicated immigration team that manages the H-1B petition process, including the annual April cap filing and premium processing where applicable.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly sponsor for Tax Senior roles?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Seniors from most nationalities. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and allows for year-round filing, making it a faster path than the cap-subject H-1B. For longer-term immigration, KPMG also supports Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process under EB-2 and EB-3 categories.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for a Tax Senior role?
KPMG typically expects two to four years of public accounting experience in a tax function, with exposure to federal or international compliance. A bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or taxation is standard, and CPA licensure or active candidacy is strongly preferred. Specialized experience in areas like transfer pricing, M&A tax, or ASC 740 reporting strengthens your candidacy for sponsored roles.
How do I apply for Tax Senior jobs at KPMG?
You can apply directly through KPMG's careers site or use Migrate Mate to browse Tax Senior openings at KPMG filtered by visa sponsorship type. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight tax compliance or advisory work that maps to U.S. specialty occupation standards, and be upfront about your sponsorship needs early in the process so KPMG's recruiting team can route you correctly.
How do I plan my timeline if KPMG sponsors my H-1B as a Tax Senior?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, USCIS registration opens in March and the lottery runs in early April, with an October 1 start date if selected. Factor in that KPMG will need time to file the Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your petition to USCIS. Plan for a six-month runway between offer acceptance and your earliest possible start date under a cap-subject H-1B.
