Align your credentials to KPMG's compliance frameworks
KPMG compliance roles typically require familiarity with AML, BSA, or SOX frameworks. Certifications like CAMS or CRCM signal readiness for client-facing regulatory work and strengthen your case as a specialty occupation candidate under H-1B criteria.
Target KPMG's regulatory and financial crimes practices
KPMG's Risk Consulting and Financial Crimes practices are among the heaviest hirers for Compliance Associates. Filtering your search by these service lines rather than general audit openings puts you in front of the teams most likely to sponsor.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Compliance Associate roles
Sponsorship-eligible openings at KPMG aren't always labeled as such on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter KPMG's Compliance Associate positions by visa type so you're applying only to roles where sponsorship is confirmed.
Understand how E-3 eligibility applies at KPMG
If you're an Australian citizen, KPMG's sponsorship of the E-3 visa means you bypass the H-1B lottery entirely. Confirm your role qualifies as a specialty occupation and that KPMG files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your start date.
Start the H-1B conversation during offer negotiations
KPMG's immigration team typically initiates the H-1B process after an offer is signed, but the April 1 USCIS filing window is fixed. Joining KPMG by the preceding fall or winter gives their team enough runway to register you in the lottery.
Plan for PERM if your goal is a Green Card
KPMG sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for compliance professionals, but PERM labor certification through DOL can take 18 months or more before an I-140 petition is filed. Raise your long-term immigration goals early so KPMG can set expectations on timing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Compliance Associates?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Compliance Associates where the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as accounting, finance, or law. KPMG participates in the annual H-1B lottery through USCIS, so your registration must be submitted by the April 1 filing window. Roles in regulatory advisory and financial crimes are among the most frequently sponsored.
How do I apply for Compliance Associate jobs at KPMG?
Applications go through KPMG's careers portal, where you can filter by service line and location. Migrate Mate also surfaces KPMG's Compliance Associate openings with visa sponsorship confirmed, which saves time if you're specifically targeting roles where H-1B or E-3 sponsorship is available. Tailoring your application to KPMG's specific compliance practice areas, such as financial crimes or regulatory risk, strengthens your candidacy.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly use for Compliance Associates?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for most international Compliance Associates, along with the E-3 visa for Australian citizens and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 categories for longer-term hires. The E-3 is particularly attractive for Australians because it carries no lottery and can be processed at a U.S. consulate in Australia without requiring a change of status.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for Compliance Associate roles?
KPMG typically looks for a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as AML, BSA, or SOX is expected at the associate level, and certifications like CAMS or CPA in progress are competitive differentiators. For H-1B purposes, the degree must directly relate to the job duties, so a finance or accounting background is more defensible than a general business degree.
How long does KPMG's visa sponsorship process take for Compliance Associates?
For H-1B, the process runs from USCIS registration in March through an October 1 start date at the earliest, making the full timeline roughly six to seven months from lottery selection. E-3 processing at an Australian consulate typically takes two to four weeks after the Labor Condition Application is certified by DOL. Green Card timelines through PERM are significantly longer, often running two years or more from initiation to I-140 approval.
