Align Your Credentials to KPMG's Engineering Context
KPMG hires Mechanical Engineers for facilities management, sustainability consulting, and technical advisory work, not traditional manufacturing. Frame your resume around built environment, energy systems, or infrastructure projects to match how the firm actually deploys this function.
Verify Your Degree Meets Specialty Occupation Standards
USCIS requires a directly related bachelor's degree for H-1B specialty occupation approval. A degree in mechanical engineering maps cleanly, but if your coursework is adjacent, gather transcripts and credential evaluations before applying so you're not scrambling post-offer.
Target KPMG Offices With Active Facilities or Advisory Practices
Mechanical Engineer roles at KPMG tend to cluster around larger offices with significant physical infrastructure or consulting practices that serve industrial clients. Searching by office location rather than just job title surfaces more relevant openings faster.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Roles by Visa Type
KPMG sponsors multiple visa categories for Mechanical Engineers, including H-1B and E-3. Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by the specific visa type you need, so you only spend time on positions where your sponsorship pathway is already confirmed.
Raise Visa Sponsorship Early in the Recruiter Conversation
KPMG's talent acquisition teams handle engineering roles differently across practice areas. Asking directly in your first recruiter call whether the specific team has approved headcount for sponsored hires saves weeks of process before a formal offer is on the table.
Understand How KPMG Handles H-1B Cap Season Timing
If you need a new H-1B, USCIS cap filings open in March for an October 1 start date. Confirm with your KPMG recruiter whether the role has a cap-exempt workaround or whether your start date needs to align with the federal fiscal year.

Find Mechanical Engineer at KPMG JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanical Engineers?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Mechanical Engineers, particularly in roles tied to facilities, infrastructure, and technical consulting functions. The firm has an established process for petitioning through USCIS on behalf of sponsored candidates. Your offer letter should confirm sponsorship intent before you accept, and your start date will need to account for USCIS processing timelines if you require a new H-1B cap filing.
How do I apply for Mechanical Engineer jobs at KPMG?
Applications go through KPMG's careers portal, where you can search by job title and location. For roles that require visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate lets you browse KPMG's open Mechanical Engineer positions filtered by the visa type you need, so you can confirm sponsorship availability before investing time in the application process.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly use for Mechanical Engineers?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas as the primary nonimmigrant pathway for Mechanical Engineers, along with E-3 visas for Australian citizens and employment-based Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3 categories for longer-term hires. The right pathway depends on your nationality, your degree level, and how long you and KPMG plan to work together.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for Mechanical Engineer roles?
KPMG typically looks for a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field, often supplemented by experience in facilities management, energy systems, sustainability, or technical advisory work. Roles supporting consulting engagements may expect professional licensure or industry certifications. Because USCIS requires a direct degree-to-role connection for specialty occupation approval, a general engineering background with no relevant specialization can complicate the H-1B petition.
How do I handle the timeline between receiving an offer and starting work at KPMG?
Timeline depends heavily on which visa you need. An E-3 for Australian citizens can be processed in a few weeks at a U.S. consulate. An H-1B cap filing has a fixed October 1 start date, meaning an offer made in early spring may involve a months-long wait. KPMG's immigration team typically coordinates directly with an outside counsel firm once an offer is accepted, so ask your recruiter what the expected timeline looks like for your specific situation.
