Align your credentials to KPMG's tax specializations
KPMG's tax practice spans federal, international, transfer pricing, and SALT. Before applying, identify which sub-practice matches your degree and any CPA progress. Hiring managers look for candidates whose academic background maps directly to a defined service line.
Target KPMG's campus and experienced hire pipelines separately
KPMG recruits Tax Consultants through two distinct channels: campus recruiting for entry-level roles and experienced hire postings for professionals with prior public accounting backgrounds. Applying through the wrong channel for your experience level reduces your chances of reaching a sponsorship-eligible requisition.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Tax Consultant openings by visa type
KPMG lists Tax Consultant roles across dozens of office locations, and sponsorship eligibility can differ by position and location. Migrate Mate lets you filter active KPMG openings specifically for H-1B and E-3 sponsorship so you're only targeting roles where your visa situation is already accounted for.
Confirm your visa type fits the role's cap timing
H-1B cap-subject petitions have an October 1 start date tied to the annual lottery. If KPMG extends an offer outside a cap-exempt entity, your start date must align with that timeline. E-3 visas for Australian citizens have no lottery and can be filed year-round, giving you more scheduling flexibility.
Request employer LCA details before the offer stage
KPMG files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before sponsoring any H-1B or E-3. During the offer process, confirm which office location will be listed on the LCA, since remote or hybrid arrangements can require amended filings if your work location changes after approval.
Prepare your CPA exam status documentation early
KPMG's Tax Consultant roles typically require candidates to be CPA-eligible or actively sitting for sections. If you're on an F-1 OPT, your 12-month authorization window is limited. Having exam transcripts and a CPA exam schedule ready signals to the sponsorship team that you're on track before they begin the petition process.

Find Tax Consultant at KPMG JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Consultants?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Consultant roles. The firm participates in the annual H-1B lottery for cap-subject candidates and also hires through cap-exempt pathways in some cases. Because KPMG recruits Tax Consultants at multiple experience levels, sponsorship eligibility is typically evaluated role by role, so confirming visa support early in the interview process is worth doing.
How do I apply for Tax Consultant jobs at KPMG?
You can apply directly through KPMG's careers portal, but the most effective path depends on where you are in your career. Entry-level Tax Consultant roles are heavily recruited through university partnerships and campus events. Experienced hire roles are posted separately. Migrate Mate lets you browse active KPMG Tax Consultant openings filtered by visa sponsorship type, so you can identify the right requisitions before applying.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly sponsor for Tax Consultant roles?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for the broadest range of candidates and the E-3 visa for Australian citizens, which has no annual lottery and can be filed year-round. For longer-term pathways, KPMG also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for Tax Consultants who have been with the firm long enough to begin the PERM labor certification process through DOL.
What qualifications does KPMG expect from Tax Consultant candidates seeking sponsorship?
KPMG typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, taxation, or a closely related field. CPA eligibility is a standard expectation, and many roles require candidates to be actively pursuing CPA licensure. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines, which accounting and tax degrees generally satisfy without issue.
How do I think about the timeline from offer to visa approval at KPMG?
For H-1B cap-subject petitions, USCIS registration opens in March and approved petitions have an October 1 start date, so an offer extended in spring or early summer aligns with that window. E-3 petitions can be processed at a U.S. consulate in a matter of weeks. KPMG's immigration team typically coordinates with external counsel, so the internal process starts after your offer is finalized and accepted.
