Align your PMP to KPMG's delivery methodology
KPMG structures its project management function around established frameworks like PMP and PRINCE2. Credentialing through PMI before applying signals direct role readiness and strengthens your petition when USCIS reviews specialty occupation eligibility for your H-1B or E-3.
Target KPMG's advisory and transformation practice lines
Global Project Manager openings at KPMG cluster heavily in advisory, deal advisory, and technology transformation units. Applying through those specific service lines, rather than corporate functions, puts your application in front of hiring managers who regularly work with international talent.
Verify your role qualifies as a specialty occupation
USCIS scrutinizes project management petitions because the occupation spans multiple disciplines. Before your offer stage, confirm your role description at KPMG references a specific degree requirement, not just preferred qualifications, since that distinction directly affects whether your H-1B petition holds up.
Understand KPMG's internal mobility and cap-exempt pathways
If you're already working for a KPMG entity outside the U.S., an intracompany transfer via L-1 visa may be available before pursuing H-1B sponsorship. Raise this with your recruiter early since it bypasses the lottery entirely and runs on a separate DOL and USCIS filing track.
Time your application around KPMG's fiscal hiring cycle
KPMG's U.S. hiring for senior project roles ramps up between September and November, ahead of its January fiscal push. Submitting your application during this window improves your odds of receiving an offer in time for an April H-1B cap filing with USCIS.
Use Migrate Mate to filter KPMG openings by visa type
Global Project Manager postings at KPMG don't always flag sponsorship availability in the listing itself. Search Migrate Mate to surface verified sponsorship-eligible roles at KPMG filtered by visa type, so you're only investing time in positions that match your specific immigration situation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Global Project Managers?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Global Project Managers, though the role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. For project management positions, that typically means the job description specifies a degree requirement in a relevant field rather than treating any bachelor's degree as sufficient. KPMG's immigration team coordinates filings through the annual H-1B cap registration process each March.
How do I apply for Global Project Manager jobs at KPMG?
Applications go through KPMG's careers portal, where you can filter by practice area and location. For international applicants, browsing verified sponsorship-eligible listings on Migrate Mate first helps narrow down which postings are actively open to visa sponsorship. Once you identify a target role, tailor your application to the specific service line, since KPMG's advisory, deal advisory, and transformation units each have distinct hiring criteria.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly use for Global Project Manager roles?
KPMG most frequently uses the H-1B for Global Project Managers from countries without a dedicated treaty visa. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3, which avoids the H-1B lottery entirely and allows direct consular processing. For candidates seeking permanent residence, KPMG sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, typically through PERM labor certification filed with DOL after a period of qualifying employment.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for a Global Project Manager role?
KPMG typically expects a bachelor's degree in business, information systems, engineering, or a related field, along with a recognized project management credential such as PMP. Experience managing cross-functional projects in professional services or consulting environments carries significant weight. Roles in advisory and transformation practices often require prior exposure to large-scale client delivery, not just internal project coordination, and familiarity with governance frameworks used in audit or risk environments.
How do I estimate the timeline from job offer to visa approval at KPMG?
For H-1B petitions, KPMG files during the April cap season for an October 1 start date, meaning offers made in early spring translate to roughly a six-month gap before you can begin work. E-3 applicants can move faster since there is no lottery and consular processing in Australia typically takes two to six weeks after the Labor Condition Application is certified by DOL. Premium processing through USCIS is available for H-1B petitions and reduces adjudication to roughly 15 business days.
