Align your credentials with fund tax work
Blackstone's tax team focuses heavily on partnership taxation, carried interest structures, and multi-jurisdiction fund reporting. Before applying, make sure your resume reflects direct experience with pass-through entities or alternative investment fund structures, not just corporate tax.
Target roles tied to active fund cycles
Blackstone posts Tax Accountant openings most actively ahead of fiscal year-end and during fund launches. Timing your application to these windows improves your visibility, since hiring managers are under real deadline pressure and move faster on strong candidates.
Clarify your visa type early in conversations
H-1B1 and TN visas have different processing timelines and employer obligations than a standard H-1B. If you hold one of these, flag it upfront during recruiter screens so Blackstone's immigration counsel can confirm the correct petition type before an offer is extended.
Understand the PERM labor certification timeline
If you're targeting a Green Card through an EB-2 or EB-3 pathway, PERM certification through DOL typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the I-140 petition. Factor this into your employment start discussions so your expectations match Blackstone's internal processes.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Tax Accountant roles
Search Migrate Mate to filter Tax Accountant positions at Blackstone that are open to visa sponsorship. This saves time you'd otherwise spend manually cross-referencing job boards with DOL disclosure data to confirm which listings actually support international candidates.
Prepare for technical tax interview rounds
Blackstone's Tax Accountant interviews typically include technical questions on Schedule K-1 allocations, UBTI, and fund-level tax structuring. Arriving with concrete examples from prior fund accounting or tax compliance work will carry significantly more weight than general accounting credentials.

Find Tax Accountant at Blackstone JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Blackstone sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Accountants?
Yes, Blackstone sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Accountant roles. The firm works with experienced immigration counsel and has an established process for petitioning on behalf of qualified candidates. Because H-1B cap-subject filings are tied to the annual April lottery, the timing of your offer relative to USCIS registration windows matters for planning your start date.
How do I apply for Tax Accountant jobs at Blackstone?
You can apply directly through Blackstone's careers portal or find open positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. Either way, tailor your application to highlight fund tax experience, specifically partnership structures and investor reporting, since those are the areas where Blackstone's tax team has the most consistent hiring activity.
Which visa types does Blackstone commonly sponsor for Tax Accountant roles?
Blackstone sponsors several visa categories for Tax Accountant positions, including H-1B, H-1B1 (available to Singaporean and Chilean nationals), TN (for Canadian and Mexican professionals under USMCA), and J-1. For candidates on F-1 OPT or CPT, Blackstone can employ you during that authorization period and then file for H-1B sponsorship when eligible.
What qualifications does Blackstone expect for sponsored Tax Accountant positions?
Blackstone typically looks for candidates with a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and CPA licensure is strongly preferred. Practical experience with partnership taxation, fund-level tax compliance, or alternative investment structures is weighted heavily. Roles at the senior level often require familiarity with multi-jurisdictional tax reporting and investor tax deliverables like Schedule K-1 packages.
How do I plan my timeline if Blackstone offers H-1B sponsorship?
If you need a new H-1B and aren't transferring an existing one, your start date will depend on the annual lottery in April and an October 1 work authorization date. USCIS premium processing can confirm approval within 15 business days for an additional fee. If you're transferring an H-1B from another employer, you can generally start at Blackstone as soon as the petition is filed, not when it's approved.
