Align your credentials with U.S. tax standards
If your accounting qualifications are from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation before applying. TD Securities tax roles often require CPA eligibility or equivalent, and USCIS reviewers will assess whether your degree maps to a U.S. bachelor's in accounting or taxation.
Target TD Securities roles in structured finance tax
TD Securities hires tax accountants with exposure to derivatives, fixed income, or fund structures. Framing your experience around investment products rather than general corporate tax puts your application in the right lane for their securities and capital markets teams.
Understand which visa fits your citizenship
Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 pathway, which skips the H-1B lottery entirely and moves significantly faster. If you hold another nationality, the H-1B or an employer-sponsored Green Card through EB-2 or EB-3 are the standard routes TD Securities supports.
Raise visa sponsorship after a formal offer
Bring up sponsorship once TD Securities has extended a written offer, not during early interviews. Their talent acquisition team routes sponsorship requests through legal and HR, so the process is structured. Asking too early can stall your candidacy before a hiring decision is made.
Track your H-1B timeline against the fiscal year cap
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year, with petitions effective October 1. If TD Securities makes you an offer in summer, confirm with their immigration team whether premium processing is on the table to lock your start date before the fiscal year deadline.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Tax Accountant roles
Filter by TD Securities on Migrate Mate to surface active Tax Accountant openings that come with visa sponsorship. You can confirm which postings align with your visa type before investing time in a full application, saving you from targeting roles that won't move forward.

Find Tax Accountant at TD Securities JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does TD Securities sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Accountants?
Yes, TD Securities sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Accountant roles. The process follows standard USCIS timelines, with registration opening in March and approved petitions becoming effective October 1. TD Securities works with immigration counsel to file petitions, and premium processing is sometimes available to compress the approval window depending on your start date.
How do I apply for Tax Accountant jobs at TD Securities?
You can search for open Tax Accountant positions through TD Securities' careers page or browse sponsored roles directly on Migrate Mate, which filters for positions where visa sponsorship is confirmed. Tailor your application to highlight relevant tax experience in financial services, particularly anything touching securities, fund structures, or regulatory reporting, as those competencies align with TD Securities' core business.
Which visa types does TD Securities typically use for Tax Accountant roles?
TD Securities sponsors H-1B visas for most international hires and the E-3 visa for Australian citizens, which bypasses the lottery and offers a faster path. For longer-term employees, TD Securities also supports permanent residency through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications, typically initiated after a candidate has been with the firm for a period of time and the PERM labor certification process can begin.
What qualifications does TD Securities expect for Tax Accountant roles?
TD Securities generally expects a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with CPA licensure or active pursuit of it viewed favorably. Relevant experience in financial services tax, including areas like partnership taxation, transfer pricing, or derivatives reporting, carries significant weight. For H-1B or E-3 eligibility, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a direct relationship between the degree field and job duties is required.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Tax Accountant at TD Securities?
For H-1B cases, the standard timeline runs from March registration through October 1 employment start, roughly six to seven months from registration to your first day. Premium processing can reduce USCIS adjudication to around 15 business days. E-3 consular processing for Australian citizens moves faster, often completing within four to eight weeks of filing the Labor Condition Application with the DOL.
