Frame your CFA progress strategically
TD Securities evaluates Strategy candidates on analytical rigor and market fluency. If you're pursuing a CFA designation, note your progress explicitly on your resume. Candidates at Level II or III often stand out against comparably credentialed applicants in investment strategy pipelines.
Target roles aligned with your visa type
TD Securities sponsors both H-1B and E-3 visas for Strategy positions. If you're Australian, the E-3 path bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely. Search for open Strategy roles filtered by sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate to surface the right opportunities faster.
Understand the LCA filing requirement early
Before your H-1B petition reaches USCIS, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying prevailing wage compliance. Ask your recruiter at the offer stage whether TD Securities uses in-house immigration counsel or an outside firm to manage this timeline.
Build a portfolio of macro and rates work
TD Securities' Strategy function skews heavily toward fixed income, rates, and foreign exchange. Candidates who can present original macro analysis, rates trade ideas, or structured product commentary during interviews signal immediate desk-level value, which strengthens the internal case for sponsorship.
Clarify EB-2 eligibility before accepting an offer
TD Securities sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for Strategy hires. If you hold an advanced degree in economics, finance, or a quantitative field, confirm with HR whether your role qualifies for EB-2 National Interest Waiver consideration, which bypasses the PERM labor certification process entirely.
Time your application around internship conversion cycles
TD Securities converts a meaningful share of full-time Strategy hires from its summer analyst and MBA intern programs. If you're on OPT, applying through the internship track extends your authorization window and lets you demonstrate fit before the company commits to a full sponsorship petition.

Find Strategy at TD Securities JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does TD Securities sponsor H-1B visas for Strategys?
Yes, TD Securities sponsors H-1B visas for Strategy roles. Because the H-1B is subject to an annual lottery with an 85,000-cap, timing your application so that your employer files during the March registration window is critical. TD Securities works with immigration counsel to manage this process, so you should raise sponsorship explicitly during the offer negotiation stage rather than assuming it's handled automatically.
How do I apply for Strategy jobs at TD Securities?
Applications go through TD Securities' careers portal, but roles that include visa sponsorship are not always labeled clearly. The most efficient way to find confirmed sponsoring Strategy openings is through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for positions where TD Securities has a documented sponsorship history. Tailor your application to highlight quantitative research, markets analysis, or capital markets experience relevant to the specific Strategy team you're targeting.
Which visa types does TD Securities commonly use for Strategy roles?
TD Securities sponsors H-1B, E-3, and permanent resident pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Strategy positions. Australian citizens benefit from the E-3 classification, which has a separate annual allocation and no lottery. For longer-term employees, TD Securities has supported Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process as well as the EB-2 category for qualifying advanced degree holders.
What qualifications does TD Securities expect for Strategy roles?
Most Strategy positions at TD Securities require a bachelor's degree at minimum in economics, finance, mathematics, or a related quantitative field, with graduate degrees or CFA progress valued for senior roles. Demonstrated experience with macro research, fixed income markets, or quantitative modeling carries significant weight. Candidates who can articulate a clear analytical framework and connect it to specific markets, particularly rates or foreign exchange, are consistently competitive in TD Securities' hiring process.
How do I understand the visa sponsorship timeline for a Strategy offer at TD Securities?
The timeline depends on your visa type. An E-3 can be processed within a few weeks at a U.S. consulate. An H-1B requires USCIS to receive the petition by the April 1 filing deadline for October 1 employment, meaning offers accepted in the fall often have a built-in waiting period. Ask your HR contact when the immigration team gets involved in the onboarding process, and clarify whether premium processing through USCIS is available if your start date is time-sensitive.
