Frame your credentials for specialty occupation
Strategy roles at Deloitte require a directly related degree field, not just any bachelor's. A finance or economics degree supporting a corporate strategy role reads cleanly to USCIS. A liberal arts degree in a hybrid role needs a stronger case built at the application stage.
Target Deloitte's consulting-aligned recruiting cycles
Deloitte's Strategy practice hires heavily through its MBA campus recruiting program in the fall. If you're in a graduate program on OPT, aligning your timeline to that cycle improves your odds of landing an offer before your work authorization window closes.
Ask about cap-exempt pathways during offer negotiations
If you're transitioning from a university or nonprofit role, ask whether Deloitte has arrangements that could support a cap-exempt H-1B filing. Some Strategy hires moving from research institutions have used this path to avoid lottery uncertainty entirely.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Strategy openings by visa type
Deloitte posts Strategy roles across multiple business units with varying sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to filter open positions by the visa categories Deloitte sponsors, so you're applying to roles where your immigration status is already accounted for.
Prepare for PERM timing before your green card conversation
Deloitte supports EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship for Strategy staff, but PERM labor certification requires you to be in the role for a qualifying period first. Factor that into your long-term planning before accepting an offer, especially if your priority date will be backlogged.

Find Strategy at Deloitte JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Strategys?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Strategy roles. The H-1B is the most common path for international candidates joining the firm's consulting practice. Because Strategy positions require specialized business or analytical expertise tied to a specific degree field, they generally satisfy the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies to H-1B petitions.
How do I apply for Strategy jobs at Deloitte?
You can apply through Deloitte's careers site or browse verified Strategy openings filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate. Deloitte's Strategy practice recruits heavily through MBA programs in the fall, and experienced hires are brought in on a rolling basis. Tailoring your application to the specific service line, such as M&A or business transformation, strengthens your fit.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly sponsor for Strategy roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for most international Strategy hires. Australian nationals can pursue the E-3 visa, which bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely. Singaporean and Chilean nationals may qualify for the H-1B1. For longer-term immigration, Deloitte also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for eligible Strategy employees after a qualifying period in the role.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Strategy roles?
Most Strategy positions at Deloitte expect a bachelor's degree in a field directly related to the role, such as business, economics, finance, or engineering. MBA credentials are common for senior consultant and manager-level positions. Prior consulting experience, exposure to M&A or corporate strategy engagements, and strong analytical skills are consistent expectations across the practice.
How do visa timelines affect the Strategy hiring process at Deloitte?
If you're on OPT, your start date and cap-gap coverage under a timely H-1B filing matter. Deloitte typically files H-1B petitions in April for an October 1 start, aligning with the USCIS fiscal year cap. If your OPT expires before October and you're not covered by cap-gap, you may need to negotiate a deferred start or explore whether an E-3 or H-1B1 offers a faster alternative path.
