Align your credentials with CPA expectations
CohnReznick's tax practice expects candidates to be CPA-eligible or actively pursuing licensure. Before applying, confirm your foreign accounting credentials are evaluated by a NASBA-approved body so your qualifications read clearly to U.S. hiring managers.
Target offices during busy recruiting cycles
CohnReznick recruits Tax Accountants heavily in late summer and fall for January and September starts. Applying outside these windows often means roles are already filled or on hold, so time your outreach to match when the firm is actively building teams.
Ask about visa type during the offer stage
CohnReznick sponsors several visa categories for this function. During the offer conversation, ask directly which visa type they intend to file for your situation. The answer affects your start date, especially if H-1B cap timing or a change of status is involved.
Understand how OPT bridges to H-1B sponsorship
If you're on F-1 OPT, CohnReznick can employ you while sponsoring your H-1B in the next lottery cycle. The 60-day grace period after OPT expiration gives you no buffer if the lottery fails, so plan your STEM OPT extension if your degree qualifies.
Browse CohnReznick tax roles on Migrate Mate
Finding which CohnReznick offices and tax teams are actively hiring for visa-sponsored roles takes time on general job boards. Search CohnReznick on Migrate Mate to surface open Tax Accountant positions filtered by sponsorship history and visa type.
Prepare a clean employment authorization timeline for HR
CohnReznick's HR and legal teams need to map your current status, expiration dates, and required filing deadlines before extending an offer. Having a one-page summary of your visa history, I-94 end date, and any pending petitions speeds up their internal approval process significantly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does CohnReznick sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Accountants?
Yes, CohnReznick sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Accountant roles. Tax accounting qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines, which supports H-1B eligibility. If you're subject to the annual H-1B cap, timing your application around CohnReznick's recruiting cycle matters, since offer timing needs to align with the April lottery window and an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Tax Accountant jobs at CohnReznick?
You can apply directly through CohnReznick's careers page or find their open Tax Accountant roles on Migrate Mate, which filters for visa-sponsored positions. CohnReznick recruits most actively in fall for public accounting cycles, so applying between August and November gives you the best chance of landing in an active hiring pipeline rather than a passive review queue.
Which visa types does CohnReznick sponsor for Tax Accountant roles?
CohnReznick has sponsored H-1B, E-3 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas for Tax Accountant positions. E-3 visa is available to Australian citizens, TN visa to Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA. If you're currently on F-1 OPT or CPT, CohnReznick can bring you on while working toward longer-term sponsorship through H-1B or another category that fits your background.
What qualifications does CohnReznick expect for sponsored Tax Accountant roles?
CohnReznick typically expects a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, taxation, or a closely related field. Active pursuit of CPA licensure is a strong differentiator and often an implicit expectation in their tax practice. Familiarity with U.S. federal and state tax compliance, partnership returns, or corporate tax is preferred. Foreign degrees should be evaluated by a credential assessment service to confirm U.S. equivalency before you apply.
How long does the sponsorship process take after receiving an offer from CohnReznick?
Timeline depends on your current status. If you're on F-1 OPT and CohnReznick is sponsoring an H-1B, you're looking at a lottery in April and a start date no earlier than October 1, which can mean a gap of six or more months. E-3 and TN sponsorship move faster since neither has a cap or lottery. USCIS premium processing is available for H-1B petitions if a faster approval decision is needed.
