Document your mechanical certifications before applying
Dematic's Mechanic roles typically require proof of trade credentials, equipment-specific training, or apprenticeship completion. Gather certificates, employer letters confirming hands-on experience with conveyor or automated systems, and any relevant safety qualifications before your first interview.
Target Dematic's field service and distribution center openings
Mechanic positions at Dematic are concentrated around warehouse automation project sites and distribution hubs. Filtering for field technician and installation mechanic postings gives you the best match for roles that have historically received visa sponsorship support.
Use Migrate Mate to find Dematic Mechanic openings
Sponsorship-eligible Mechanic roles aren't always labeled clearly on general job boards. Search Migrate Mate to filter Dematic postings by visa type, so you're only spending time on roles where sponsorship is actually on the table.
Clarify your visa category fit during screening
Dematic sponsors multiple visa types including H-1B, TN, and OPT. In your initial recruiter call, confirm which category applies to your situation. TN is faster for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying mechanic-adjacent roles, while H-1B requires cap timing alignment.
Align your offer timeline with H-1B cap deadlines
If you need H-1B sponsorship, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start. If you receive a Dematic offer outside that window, ask the recruiter whether cap-exempt pathways or OPT extensions can bridge the gap while your petition is pending.
Verify your work authorization status before onboarding
Dematic uses E-Verify, the federal employment eligibility system, during onboarding. Confirm your I-94 or EAD reflects current valid status before your start date to avoid delays. A mismatch in E-Verify can pause your start date even after an offer is signed.

Does Dematic sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanics?
Yes, Dematic sponsors H-1B visas and has done so across technical and skilled trade roles including Mechanics. Because H-1B is a cap-subject visa, timing matters. If you're targeting a Dematic Mechanic role, align your application outreach with the USCIS registration window in March to maximize your chances of a timely start date.
How do I apply for Mechanic jobs at Dematic?
Apply directly through Dematic's careers portal, where Mechanic and field technician postings are listed by region. You can also browse sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters Dematic roles by visa type. In your application, highlight hands-on experience with conveyor systems, automated material handling equipment, or industrial mechanical maintenance to match Dematic's core technical requirements.
Which visa types does Dematic commonly use for Mechanic roles?
Dematic sponsors across several categories for Mechanic positions, including H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Card pathways like EB-2 and EB-3. TN is a practical option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying mechanic classifications. OPT and CPT are common for candidates currently enrolled in or recently graduated from U.S. technical or engineering programs.
What qualifications does Dematic expect for Mechanic roles?
Dematic Mechanic roles generally require demonstrated experience with industrial mechanical systems, including conveyor belts, sortation equipment, and automated storage solutions. Trade certifications, vocational credentials, or an associate degree in a mechanical discipline strengthen your profile. Field installation experience and the ability to read mechanical schematics are commonly referenced in Dematic job postings for this function.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Dematic Mechanic role?
Timeline depends on your visa category. TN sponsorship for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals can be approved at the border on your start date. H-1B petitions filed under standard processing take three to six months after USCIS accepts them, with premium processing available for faster adjudication. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways involve a PERM labor certification stage with DOL before USCIS petition filing, which adds significant time.
