Credential Your International Degree for U.S. Roles
Construction hiring managers at DPR evaluate degree equivalency closely. Get your overseas engineering or construction management degree officially evaluated by a NACES-accredited credential assessment service before applying so there's no ambiguity in the interview stage.
Target DPR's Self-Perform Project Divisions
DPR is known for self-performing concrete, drywall, and MEP scopes, which creates demand for hands-on field engineers and superintendents. Tailoring your resume to these technical disciplines puts you in front of the hiring teams with the most active openings.
Confirm Your OPT STEM Extension Eligibility Early
Construction management and civil engineering degrees often qualify for the 24-month STEM OPT extension. Verify your degree's CIP code with your DSO before accepting any offer, since this directly affects how much runway DPR has before needing to file an H-1B petition.
Understand Where the H-1B Cap Fits Your Timeline
H-1B registrations open in March each year with an October 1 start date. If you're negotiating an offer with DPR outside that window, discuss cap-exempt bridge options or a delayed start date so both sides can plan around the USCIS lottery cycle.
Use Migrate Mate to Find DPR's Actively Sponsored Roles
Not every Construction posting at DPR includes visa language. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for DPR Construction roles with confirmed sponsorship history, so you focus your applications on positions the company has actively supported through the filing process.
Prepare a Prevailing Wage Conversation With Your Recruiter
DOL requires H-1B employers to pay the prevailing wage for the role's location and level. Before offer negotiations, check the DOL Foreign Labor Certification Data Center for wage levels in your target DPR office city so you enter salary discussions with accurate benchmarks.

Find Construction at DPR Construction JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does DPR Construction sponsor H-1B visas for Construction roles?
Yes, DPR Construction sponsors H-1B visas for Construction positions. The company has a documented history of supporting international workers through both the H-1B cap lottery and, where eligible, cap-exempt pathways. If you're on OPT and targeting DPR, coordinate your application timeline around the March USCIS registration window to avoid a gap in work authorization.
How do I apply for Construction jobs at DPR Construction?
You can apply directly through DPR Construction's careers portal, where roles are listed by region and project type. For international applicants, Migrate Mate is the most efficient starting point because it surfaces DPR's Construction openings that have confirmed sponsorship history, saving you the time of filtering through listings that may not support visa applicants.
Which visa types does DPR Construction commonly use for Construction positions?
DPR sponsors across multiple visa categories for Construction roles, including H-1B, F-1 OPT (including STEM extensions), CPT for students completing degree requirements, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering occupations, and J-1 for certain training arrangements. EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship is also available for longer-term employees pursuing permanent residence.
What qualifications does DPR Construction expect for sponsored Construction roles?
DPR typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering, construction management, or a closely related field for roles that require H-1B sponsorship, since the position must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Hands-on experience with project delivery methods like design-build or integrated project delivery is a strong differentiator, particularly for field engineer and project manager tracks.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when starting a Construction role at DPR?
Timeline depends on which visa category applies. F-1 OPT authorization is typically in place before your start date if your DSO files promptly. H-1B petitions have an October 1 start date following the March lottery, with USCIS standard processing taking three to six months and premium processing available in roughly two weeks. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship for Construction roles is a multi-year process and generally begins after you've established tenure with DPR.
