Frame your credentials around specialty occupation standards
Business Development roles at Eaton often require USCIS to confirm the position qualifies as a specialty occupation. Make sure your degree is in a directly related field like business administration, engineering, or supply chain rather than a general discipline.
Target Eaton's power and electrical divisions first
Eaton's highest Business Development hiring volume sits in its Electrical and ePowerTrain divisions. Prioritize applications there, since these teams interact with manufacturing clients and government infrastructure projects where international expertise is genuinely valued.
Search Eaton openings through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Eaton's current Business Development openings by visa type so you only pursue roles where sponsorship has already been confirmed, saving time on applications that lead nowhere.
Understand where TN fits your Business Development candidacy
If you're a Canadian or Mexican citizen, a TN visa under the Management Consultant category can support certain Business Development scopes at Eaton. Confirm with Eaton's HR that the specific role description maps cleanly to an eligible TN occupation before relying on this path.
Prepare for PERM timelines before your offer stage
If Eaton offers a permanent residency pathway through EB-2 or EB-3, DOL's PERM process typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the petition. Build that into your career planning so the timeline doesn't catch you off guard after accepting an offer.

Find Business Development at Eaton JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Eaton sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Eaton sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The company has a consistent record of filing H-1B petitions for professional positions across its manufacturing and power management divisions. To qualify, your role must meet USCIS specialty occupation standards, which generally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a field directly related to the position's duties.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Eaton?
You can apply directly through Eaton's careers portal or browse confirmed visa-sponsoring openings on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type so you can identify positions where sponsorship is available. When applying, emphasize domain expertise in industrial or electrical markets and any experience working with large manufacturing customers or government accounts, as these align closely with Eaton's Business Development focus.
Which visa types does Eaton commonly use for Business Development roles?
Eaton sponsors H-1B visas most frequently for Business Development professionals, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for early-career candidates still completing their degrees. TN status is available for Canadian and Mexican citizens whose roles map to an eligible occupation category. For longer-term pathways, Eaton also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the DOL PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does Eaton expect for Business Development positions?
Eaton's Business Development roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related technical field, with preference given to candidates who have experience selling or partnering within industrial, electrical, or energy sectors. Familiarity with Eaton's core markets, including data centers, utilities, and commercial construction, strengthens your candidacy significantly. An MBA or advanced degree can support both your application and the specialty occupation determination USCIS requires for H-1B sponsorship.
How do I plan around visa filing timelines when pursuing a Business Development role at Eaton?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, USCIS opens the annual cap lottery in March, with employment starting no earlier than October 1. That gap means you and Eaton need to plan your offer and start date well in advance. If you're on OPT, your existing work authorization can bridge that window. For TN or H-1B transfers from another employer, processing can move faster since cap-exempt or transfer petitions aren't subject to the annual lottery.
