Align your credentials with NERC and IEEE standards
Electric Power Engineers works on transmission and distribution systems where NERC reliability standards and IEEE protection practices are baseline expectations. Documenting your experience with these frameworks in your resume makes your application immediately legible to their hiring team.
Target roles tied to grid modernization projects
EPE's consulting work spans utility clients, renewable integration, and substation design. Filtering your applications toward open Electronic Engineer positions in those project areas improves your fit signal and strengthens the specialty occupation case DOL and USCIS evaluate during LCA and H-1B filing.
Clarify OPT and CPT eligibility early in interviews
EPE sponsors both F-1 OPT and CPT, so if you're currently on F-1 status, confirm with your DSO that your authorized training period aligns with the project start date. The 60-day OPT gap rule applies if your previous employment ended before the offer.
Request written confirmation of the LCA wage level
During offer negotiations, ask the recruiter to confirm which DOL prevailing wage level the Labor Condition Application will use. For consulting engineers, Level I and Level II placements carry meaningfully different base wage obligations and can affect your total compensation structure.
Use Migrate Mate to find active Electronic Engineer openings at EPE
Search Migrate Mate to surface current Electronic Engineer listings at Electric Power Engineers filtered by visa sponsorship type. This lets you identify which roles are actively open before reaching out to recruiters or submitting a direct application through EPE's careers page.
Prepare a TN eligibility memo if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Electronic Engineers can qualify under the TN Engineer category if your degree is in electrical or electronics engineering. Bring a concise memo from your employer confirming your job duties match that category, since CBP officers make TN determinations at the port of entry without advance USCIS review.

Find Electronic Engineer at Electric Power Engineers JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Electric Power Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Electronic Engineers?
Yes, Electric Power Engineers sponsors H-1B visas for Electronic Engineer roles. Because EPE is a consulting firm, your H-1B petition must demonstrate that the specific position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at minimum a bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering. Your employer files Form I-129 with USCIS after securing a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL. Cap-subject candidates need to be selected in the annual H-1B lottery, typically held in March for an October 1 start.
How do I apply for Electronic Engineer jobs at Electric Power Engineers?
Applications go through EPE's careers portal, where open Electronic Engineer positions are listed by project area and location. Before applying, tailor your resume to reflect power systems experience relevant to EPE's consulting work, including protection engineering, load flow analysis, or grid interconnection studies. You can also browse current visa-sponsored openings at Electric Power Engineers through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles open to candidates who need sponsorship.
Which visa types does Electric Power Engineers commonly use for Electronic Engineer positions?
EPE sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3 for Electronic Engineer roles. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering the company, while H-1B and TN are the primary long-term work authorization paths. EB-2 and EB-3 PERM sponsorship typically becomes available after an engineer has established tenure and demonstrated ongoing business need within the firm.
What qualifications and experience does Electric Power Engineers expect for Electronic Engineer roles?
EPE's Electronic Engineer positions generally require a bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering from an accredited institution. Practical experience with power system analysis tools such as PSCAD, ETAP, or PowerWorld is frequently cited in their postings. Consulting roles often also require familiarity with utility client environments, NERC standards, and the ability to produce engineering deliverables independently. Candidates pursuing H-1B sponsorship should ensure their degree field directly maps to the stated job duties.
How does the PERM Green Card process work for Electronic Engineers at a consulting firm like EPE?
PERM labor certification through DOL is the first step toward an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card at EPE. EPE must conduct a formal recruitment process and demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers were available for the role. For consulting firms, this process requires careful documentation because engineers often work across multiple client sites. Once PERM is certified, EPE files Form I-140 with USCIS, and your priority date determines how long before you can file for adjustment of status, which varies by country of birth.
