Align Your Degree to Ford's Requirements
Ford's Supply Chain roles typically require a degree in engineering, supply chain management, or operations. If your degree is in a related but adjacent field, prepare documentation showing how your coursework maps to the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies.
Target Ford's Direct Materials and Sourcing Teams
Ford's highest Supply Chain hiring volume sits in direct materials procurement and supplier quality, particularly for EV and battery programs. Positioning your resume around commodity management or supplier development experience gives you the strongest foothold.
Browse Open Roles Using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Ford's Supply Chain openings by visa type before applying. Applying only to roles Ford has actively sponsored for your visa category saves time and avoids pursuing positions where sponsorship is unlikely.
Confirm LCA Status Before Accepting an Offer
Before signing an offer, ask Ford's HR team whether the Labor Condition Application has been filed with DOL for your specific role and location. LCA certification is required before USCIS can adjudicate your H-1B petition, and delays here affect your start date.
Raise Green Card Timing Early in Negotiation
Ford sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 green cards for Supply Chain roles, but PERM labor certification timelines in automotive can run 18 to 24 months or longer. Asking about green card policy during offer negotiation is standard practice and lets you plan your long-term status.

Find Supply Chain at Ford Motor Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Ford Motor Company sponsor H-1B visas for Supply Chain roles?
Yes, Ford Motor Company sponsors H-1B visas for Supply Chain positions. Ford participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery each April and files petitions for qualifying roles in procurement, logistics, and supplier quality. Supply Chain positions at Ford generally meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard when the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical or business discipline.
Which visa types does Ford Motor Company commonly use for Supply Chain positions?
Ford sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT visas for Supply Chain roles, along with immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards. E-3 is available to Australian citizens, and TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. The right visa depends on your citizenship and the specific role structure.
What qualifications does Ford expect for sponsored Supply Chain roles?
Ford's sponsored Supply Chain roles typically require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. For mid-level and senior positions, hands-on experience in commodity management, supplier quality, or production planning in an automotive or manufacturing environment is usually expected. Familiarity with Ford's global supply base or EV platform programs can strengthen your candidacy.
How do I apply for Supply Chain jobs at Ford Motor Company?
You can find and apply for Supply Chain roles at Ford through Ford's careers portal. To identify which openings are realistically available to visa-sponsored candidates, browse Ford's Supply Chain jobs filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate before applying. Targeting roles where Ford has a sponsorship track record for your visa category improves your chances of moving through the process without delays.
How do I plan around the H-1B lottery timeline when targeting Ford?
Ford submits H-1B registrations in March, with the lottery typically running in late March and cap-subject petitions filed in April for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT and won't receive an October start, work with Ford's HR team and your DSO to confirm cap-gap eligibility, which allows you to continue working after OPT expires while your petition is pending with USCIS.
