The Integration Lead is responsible for leading the end-to-end integration of legacy (non-SAP) systems with SAP platforms across global manufacturing plants. This role combines technical integration leadership with project management and stakeholder coordination across skill teams and external suppliers. The Integration Lead will define and govern standard global integration templates, and ensure stable, secure, and scalable interfaces that support MMP operations.
Integration Leadership (End-to-End)
- Lead delivery of integrations between MMP S/4HANA and legacy/non-SAP systems
- Collaborate with Functional, Technical and Enterprise Architecture to develop integration architecture and approach for assigned programs, including interface patterns, data flows and performance requirements.
- Lead interface standards and best practices (API-led, event-driven, EDI, IDoc, RFC, OData, file-based), aligned to enterprise integration strategy.
MMP PDO / Skill Team Collaboration (Cross-Product Coordination)
- Partner with multiple MMP PDO teams to align integration scope, priorities, and delivery timelines across concurrent initiatives.
- Manage cross-team dependencies (design decisions, shared services, master data impacts, environment constraints) and drive timely resolution through MMP governance forums.
- Coordinate end-to-end testing execution across PDO teams (SIT/E2E/UAT), ensuring integrated processes function across functional boundaries.
Global Template Development (Manufacturing and Assembly Plants)
-
Develop and maintain global integration templates and reusable assets for plant rollouts, including:
-
Standard interface designs and mappings
-
Cutover checklists and hypercare readiness criteria
-
Drive standardization while enabling controlled localization based on plant-specific constraints.
Project Management & Delivery Execution
- Plan and manage integration workstreams across multiple projects/plant deployments: scope, schedule, dependencies, RAID (risks, actions, issues, decisions), and status reporting.
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery activities (SAP functional teams, legacy app owners, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and operations).
- Manage integration milestones with skill teams: design sign-off, build, SIT, Load, end-to-end testing, performance testing, UAT, cutover and hypercare.
- Ensure change control and release readiness are followed on areas impacting skill teams (CAB processes, validation evidence, rollback plans).
Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as primary integration point-of-contact for internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Lead joint design sessions, clarify requirements, manage deliverables, and ensure alignment on timelines and acceptance criteria.
- Govern supplier execution quality (technical design compliance, testing rigor, documentation, defect resolution, and handover).
- Ensure production support readiness.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise integration delivery, including SAP-to-non-SAP integrations.
- Demonstrated experience leading integration workstreams in manufacturing, supply chain, or plant operations environments.
- Strong project management skills managing complex dependencies across multiple teams, 3rd party service providers and vendors.
- Understanding of integration technologies and patterns (e.g., SAP, BTP, API gateways, message queues, EDI, IDoc).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite (nice to have), API Management, and cloud/hybrid integration.
- PMP, SAFe, or similar delivery certification (nice to have).
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication skills—able to translate technical topics into business impact and decisions.
- Vendor management and cross-company coordination.
- Ability to work across time zones and manage global stakeholders.
- Proven ability to drive alignment and execution across multiple PDO teams with competing priorities.

Frame your credentials around automotive commercial strategy
Ford's Business Development roles focus on OEM partnerships, dealer network expansion, and electrification ventures. Tailor your resume and portfolio to show experience with automotive supply chains, joint ventures, or mobility sector deal-making rather than generic BD work.
Target Ford's electrification and Ford Pro divisions
Ford has concentrated BD hiring around its EV business and commercial vehicle unit. Positioning yourself for roles tied to these growth areas improves your chances of landing a sponsor-ready opening with genuine internal momentum behind the hire.
Confirm your visa category before accepting an offer
Ford sponsors multiple visa types for Business Development roles. Before signing, confirm in writing which category your offer covers, since H-1B, E-3, and TN each carry different timelines, portability rules, and renewal requirements that affect your planning.
Use Migrate Mate to filter active Ford BD openings by visa type
Ford posts Business Development roles across multiple channels, but not all listings signal sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to surface verified Ford openings that align with your visa category so you apply where sponsorship is actually on the table.
Account for PERM labor certification in your long-term timeline
If Ford moves you toward an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card, PERM requires DOL to certify no qualified U.S. workers are available. The recruitment and audit window alone can take 12 to 18 months, so start that conversation with HR well before your nonimmigrant status nears expiration.
Prepare for Ford's structured interview process before discussing sponsorship
Ford Business Development interviews typically involve case-style assessments on market analysis and partnership scenarios. Demonstrating commercial fluency upfront reduces recruiter hesitation about sponsorship complexity, since internal sponsors are easier to secure once hiring managers are already invested in your candidacy.

Does Ford Motor Company sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Ford Motor Company sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. Ford is a registered H-1B employer and has a consistent history of filing petitions for professional positions in this function. Because H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, timing your job search and offer acceptance around the April filing window is essential if this is your primary pathway.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Development roles at Ford Motor Company?
Ford sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT or CPT for Business Development positions, as well as immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and skips the H-1B lottery. TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying USMCA occupations. Your eligible category depends on your nationality, degree field, and the specific role structure.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Ford Motor Company?
Applications go through Ford's careers portal at careers.ford.com, where Business Development roles are listed under Corporate or Strategy functions. You can also find and filter Ford Business Development openings that align with your visa type on Migrate Mate, which helps you identify roles where sponsorship is explicitly supported before you invest time in the application process.
What qualifications and experience does Ford typically expect for Business Development roles?
Ford Business Development positions generally require a bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field, with many senior roles expecting an MBA. Practical experience in automotive partnerships, OEM commercial agreements, or mobility sector strategy is valued. Familiarity with EV market dynamics or Ford's commercial vehicle ecosystem gives candidates a measurable edge in competitive searches.
How do I plan my immigration timeline when joining Ford in a Business Development role?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your end date and whether your role qualifies for a 24-month STEM extension, since that buffer affects when Ford needs to file an H-1B on your behalf. H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. Discuss your timeline with Ford's immigration team early, as internal legal counsel typically manages USCIS filings directly.
