Align Your Credentials to GHD's Specialty Occupation Standard
GHD files under EB-2 and EB-3 for roles requiring advanced professional expertise, so document that your degree field directly corresponds to the Client Partner function. A business or engineering degree paired with client management experience strengthens the specialty occupation argument considerably.
Target GHD's Infrastructure and Advisory Practice Lines
Client Partner openings at GHD cluster around water, environment, and transportation consulting. Positioning your background against one of these verticals, rather than applying broadly, signals fit to hiring managers who are evaluating sponsorship ROI alongside technical alignment.
Flag OPT or TN Eligibility Early in Conversations
GHD sponsors F-1 OPT and TN visas for Client Partners, which are faster to activate than PERM-based pathways. If you qualify, raise your authorization status before the offer stage so the recruiting team can route you to the right HR process without delay.
Understand How PERM Timing Affects Your Start Date
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, DOL's PERM labor certification typically adds several months before USCIS can adjudicate the immigrant petition. Factor that into your negotiation, particularly if you're transitioning from OPT or a 60-day grace period between roles.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Client Partner Openings
GHD posts Client Partner roles across multiple regions and practice areas at different times of year. Use Migrate Mate to filter for GHD specifically and monitor new postings, so you can apply during active hiring cycles rather than after headcount has closed.
Prepare a Client Portfolio That Quantifies Revenue Impact
GHD's hiring process for Client Partners weighs demonstrated ability to grow and retain accounts in professional services. Concrete examples of contract value managed or client relationships expanded give hiring managers the evidence they need to justify sponsorship investment to leadership.

Find Client Partner at GHD JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GHD sponsor H-1B visas for Client Partners?
GHD's sponsorship activity for Client Partners centers on EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas rather than the H-1B. If you're currently on H-1B status with another employer and seeking a transfer, GHD can file an H-1B transfer petition, but the company's primary sponsorship pathways for this role run through those other categories.
Which visa types are commonly used for Client Partner roles at GHD?
GHD sponsors Client Partners under EB-2 and EB-3 for permanent residency pathways, and uses F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 for nonimmigrant work authorization. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering client-facing consulting roles before a longer-term sponsorship pathway is established.
What qualifications or experience does GHD expect for Client Partner positions?
GHD Client Partner roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a field aligned with their consulting verticals, such as engineering, environmental science, or business, combined with demonstrable experience managing complex client relationships in professional services. Candidates who can show direct accountability for account growth or project delivery in infrastructure or advisory contexts are most competitive.
How do I apply for Client Partner jobs at GHD?
You can browse and apply for Client Partner positions at GHD through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for visa-sponsoring employers and lets you track GHD's openings by practice area and location. When applying, tailor your materials to GHD's consulting verticals and be prepared to address your work authorization status directly during the initial recruiter screen.
How do I plan my timeline if GHD is pursuing EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship for my Client Partner role?
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship requires DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS can process the immigrant petition, a sequence that routinely spans a year or more before any Green Card is issued. If your current visa status has a defined end date, discuss the sponsorship timeline with GHD's HR team at the offer stage so bridging options, such as an extended OPT period or TN renewal, can be arranged in parallel.
