Align your credentials with GHD's expectations
GHD operates in a professional services environment, so Waiter applicants should document formal food safety certifications and any hospitality training. Roles supporting client events carry higher standards than typical restaurant positions, so credentials matter more than you'd expect.
Target GHD's open roles strategically
GHD posts Waiter openings across multiple locations tied to office-based client hospitality. Search for postings that reference corporate event support or executive dining, since those functions are most commonly tied to the dedicated sponsorship workflows GHD already has in place.
Browse verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Filter by Waiter roles in Consulting and Professional Services on Migrate Mate to surface GHD openings alongside other employers with confirmed sponsorship track records, so you're spending time on applications that can actually move forward.
Clarify your OPT or CPT authorization timeline early
If you're on F-1 status, confirm your OPT or CPT end date before your first interview. GHD's hiring process for hospitality roles can take several weeks, and a gap between your authorization period and a start date can stall an offer even after approval.
Understand how PERM affects your Green Card timeline
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship both require PERM labor certification filed with DOL before USCIS can process your immigrant petition. For Waiter roles, the PERM recruitment documentation must demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers were available, which adds months to the overall timeline.
Confirm TN eligibility if you're Canadian or Mexican
TN status does not cover Waiter roles as a qualifying occupation under USMCA. If GHD has discussed TN sponsorship with you for a hospitality position, verify with USCIS guidance that the specific role description meets a listed TN category before accepting any offer contingent on it.

Find Waiter at GHD JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GHD sponsor H-1B visas for Waiters?
H-1B visas are reserved for specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, and Waiter roles do not typically meet that threshold under USCIS criteria. GHD's sponsorship for this role category generally flows through other pathways such as F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, or employment-based immigrant visas like EB-2 and EB-3 rather than H-1B.
How do I apply for Waiter jobs at GHD?
Search GHD's careers portal directly for hospitality or food service openings, filtering by location where GHD operates client-facing offices. You can also browse verified Waiter openings at GHD through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles with confirmed sponsorship history so you can prioritize applications that align with your visa situation before reaching out to recruiters.
Which visa types does GHD commonly use to sponsor Waiters?
GHD's sponsorship activity for Waiter roles spans F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. J-1 is often used for hospitality roles with an exchange or training component, while EB-3 is the most common route for longer-term placement since it covers skilled and unskilled workers without requiring a specialty degree.
What qualifications does GHD expect for Waiter roles?
GHD's Waiter positions typically support corporate hospitality in a professional services setting rather than traditional restaurant service. Candidates who can demonstrate experience in formal dining, executive catering, or high-volume event service are better positioned. Food handler certifications and familiarity with service protocols for client-facing environments will strengthen your application over general food service experience.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Waiter role at GHD?
Timeline depends heavily on the visa category. F-1 OPT or CPT authorization can move quickly if your DSO approves the work authorization before your start date. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM involves DOL labor certification, which alone can take six months to over a year before USCIS processes your immigrant petition, so planning well ahead of any expiring status is essential.
