Tailor your resume to hotel service standards
Hilton's food and beverage teams expect experience with formal table service, point-of-sale systems, and high-volume banquet or restaurant settings. Frame your resume around these specifically, not just general waiting experience.
Target properties with banquet and conference operations
Hilton's full-service and convention properties file H-2B petitions most consistently for Waiter roles. Focus your applications on flagship hotels, resorts, and conference-heavy locations rather than limited-service Hilton brands.
Understand the H-2B seasonal filing window
H-2B visas are capped annually and tied to seasonal or peak-period need. Hilton files petitions aligned with their busiest service periods, so submitting your interest well before those windows opens gives you the best positioning.
Verify your employer completes DOL and USCIS steps correctly
H-2B sponsorship requires your employer to get DOL certification before USCIS filing. Confirm with your Hilton hiring contact that both steps are underway and ask for the petition receipt number once USCIS accepts the filing.
Browse open Waiter roles at Hilton using Migrate Mate
Filtering by role and sponsor on Migrate Mate lets you surface active Waiter openings at Hilton properties that are actively hiring with visa support, so you're not applying blindly to locations that aren't sponsoring right now.
Prepare your consular documentation before your interview date
H-2B workers attend a consular interview abroad before entry. Gather your employment contract, proof of ties to your home country, and a copy of the approved USCIS petition so your consular officer can process your case without delays.

Find Waiter at Hilton JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hilton sponsor H-1B visas for Waiters?
Hilton does not typically sponsor H-1B visas for Waiter roles. The H-1B is reserved for specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, and Waiter positions do not meet that threshold. Hilton sponsors Waiter roles under the H-2B visa, which is designed for temporary non-agricultural workers in seasonal or peak-need positions.
Which visa types does Hilton use to sponsor Waiter roles?
Hilton primarily uses the H-2B visa to sponsor international workers for Waiter positions. The H-2B classification covers temporary roles tied to seasonal demand, which aligns with Hilton's peak service periods across its full-service hotels and resorts. This is distinct from the H-1B and is subject to its own annual cap managed by USCIS and the Department of Labor.
What qualifications does Hilton expect for sponsored Waiter roles?
Hilton's sponsored Waiter positions typically require prior experience in hotel or restaurant service, familiarity with formal dining protocols, and comfort in high-volume environments such as banquet halls or full-service restaurant floors. Experience with point-of-sale systems and demonstrated customer service skills are practical assets. Some properties may also look for food handler certification depending on the state.
How do I apply for Waiter jobs at Hilton?
You can search for open Waiter positions at Hilton through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship so you can identify properties actively hiring with H-2B support. When applying, reference your table service background and any hotel dining experience prominently. Hilton's hiring for sponsored roles often runs through property-level food and beverage managers, so tailoring your application to the specific property matters.
How do I know how long the H-2B process will take at Hilton?
The H-2B process involves two sequential steps: DOL certification, which can take several weeks, followed by USCIS petition adjudication. Standard processing timelines at USCIS vary by filing period and demand. Because H-2B petitions are tied to a specific start date, Hilton initiates the process well in advance of the role's expected start. Plan for the full process to take several months from initial filing to visa issuance.
