Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Consultant Jobs at GHD Jobs
Align your credentials to GHD's technical practice areas
GHD structures its consulting work around engineering, environmental, and advisory services. Framing your academic background and project experience around infrastructure, water, or energy sectors directly strengthens your candidacy before sponsorship even enters the conversation.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Consultant roles at GHD
GHD posts Consultant openings across multiple regions and practice areas simultaneously. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for GHD positions that have a sponsorship history, so you're applying to the roles most likely to move forward.
Ask about GHD's PERM timeline expectations during offer negotiations
If you're targeting an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card through GHD, PERM labor certification typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even sees the petition. Clarify early whether GHD initiates PERM concurrently with your start date or after a tenure threshold.
Get your degree equivalency documented before interviews
GHD hires internationally credentialed Consultants, but a three-year bachelor's degree from outside the U.S. can complicate specialty occupation determinations for H-1B or EB filings. A credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization resolves this before it becomes a USCIS issue.

Find Consultant at GHD JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GHD sponsor H-1B visas for Consultants?
GHD's primary sponsorship pathways for Consultants are EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards rather than H-1B transfers, though this can vary by role and office location. If you're already on H-1B status with another employer, it's worth discussing a transfer directly with GHD's HR team during the offer stage, as cap-exempt or cap-subject eligibility depends on your specific situation.
How do I apply for Consultant jobs at GHD?
GHD posts Consultant openings on its careers portal, organized by practice area and geography. You can also find visa-sponsorship-filtered GHD Consultant roles on Migrate Mate, which narrows results to positions with a documented sponsorship track record. Tailoring your application to GHD's infrastructure or environmental advisory focus areas significantly improves your chances of clearing the initial screening stage.
Which visa types does GHD commonly use for Consultant roles?
GHD sponsors F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN, EB-2, and EB-3 for Consultant positions. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. EB-2 and EB-3 are the primary immigrant visa pathways, typically requiring PERM labor certification filed through the Department of Labor before the USCIS petition.
What qualifications does GHD expect for Consultant roles?
Most Consultant positions at GHD require a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as civil engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline. For immigration purposes, your degree must support a specialty occupation determination, meaning the role requires that specific field of study. Practical project experience and relevant certifications strengthen both your candidacy and any future visa petition.
How do I time my application around visa processing for a GHD Consultant role?
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply to GHD at least three to four months before your authorization expires to allow time for onboarding and any STEM extension filing. For TN status, processing at the border is usually same-day for Canadians. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card timelines through PERM and USCIS typically run 18 months or more from the start of the labor certification process.
