Job Description
To solve complex challenges, you need to challenge the status-quo. At GHD Advisory we are invested in creating sustainable commercial outcomes with clients driving change in water, energy and urbanization. Join a team committed to solving complex challenges across the value chain, from capital deployment to asset management, enabling resilience, growth and sustainability. Together, we’ll help create a future for generations to come.
Who are we looking for?
GHD is seeking an Asset Management, Team Lead - Water (US) to grow and deliver our municipal water and wastewater asset management practice. In this pivotal role, you will set the strategy, win work, and lead multi-disciplinary teams delivering programs that align with ISO 55000 principles, AWWA utility management/AM standards, and US best practices (EPA). As a leader in Client & Project Leadership, you’ll serve as the account and engagement lead for city, county, and regional utilities—shaping roadmaps for levels of service, risk, lifecycle and cost optimization, and capital program alignment. You’ll direct programs across the asset management lifecycle, including asset data and criticality, condition/RUL modeling, risk registers, O&M/RCM optimization, CIP prioritization, resilience and climate adaptation, and performance management. You’ll also oversee CMMS/EAM delivery (IBM Maximo, Infor, SAP, Cityworks), guiding requirements, configuration, data governance, and change management.
In Practice Building, you’ll grow a high-performing team and mentor project managers and analysts in IAM/GFMAM competencies and ISO-aligned delivery methods. You’ll develop playbooks and methodologies for risk-based decision making, lifecycle costing, and reliability strategies. On the Business Development front, you’ll own pipeline creation and capture—leading positioning, solutioning, scoping, pricing, and proposal development for municipal asset management, O&M optimization, and digital water pursuits. You’ll represent GHD at industry forums such as AWWA, WEF, and IAM, and author thought leadership that shapes the future of water infrastructure.

Align your credentials to GHD's project sectors
GHD's consulting work spans water, energy, transportation, and environmental advisory. Frame your resume around sector-specific project experience, not generic consulting frameworks, so hiring managers see you as billable from day one.
Target GHD offices in visa-friendly locations
GHD operates across multiple U.S. states with varying hiring volumes for consultants. Applying to offices in markets where GHD has active infrastructure or environmental project pipelines increases your chances of reaching a team with open headcount and sponsorship precedent.
Understand GHD's EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship path
GHD has sponsored both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for consultants. EB-3 typically requires a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL, a process that can take a year or more. Ask during late-stage interviews whether GHD initiates this process after a defined tenure.
Use Migrate Mate to filter active Management Consultant roles
GHD posts Management Consultant openings across multiple locations and service lines at different times. Use Migrate Mate to surface current roles filtered by visa type so you're only applying to positions where sponsorship is confirmed, not assumed.
Prepare for a TN or J-1 conversation if applicable
Canadian and Mexican nationals in management consulting may qualify for TN status without a lottery, while some rotational or research-focused roles at GHD have used J-1. Confirm with USCIS guidance which classification fits your specific role description before your offer call.

Find Management Consultant at GHD JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GHD sponsor H-1B visas for Management Consultants?
GHD has sponsored H-1B visas, though its primary sponsorship activity for Management Consultants centers on EB-2, EB-3, and F-1 OPT pathways. H-1B sponsorship depends on the specific role, office location, and project staffing needs. Your best approach is to raise your visa situation directly with the recruiter once you've reached the offer stage, rather than filtering out opportunities early.
How do I apply for Management Consultant jobs at GHD?
Apply through GHD's careers portal, where openings are listed by service line and location. Tailor your application to reflect GHD's focus areas, such as infrastructure advisory, environmental consulting, or asset management. You can also browse active Management Consultant roles at GHD filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which saves time if you need sponsorship confirmed before applying.
Which visa types does GHD commonly use for Management Consultants?
GHD sponsors across several categories for this role type, including EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT for students completing practicums, TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying consulting roles, and J-1 for certain training or exchange placements. The right category depends on your nationality, degree level, and where you are in the hiring process.
What qualifications does GHD expect for a Management Consultant role?
GHD's Management Consultant roles typically require a bachelor's degree in a field relevant to their service sectors, such as engineering, environmental science, economics, or business. For visa eligibility under EB-2 or H-1B classifications, the degree must be in a specialty directly related to the role. Relevant project experience in infrastructure, advisory services, or technical consulting strengthens your application significantly.
How do I time my application if my work authorization is expiring soon?
If you're on F-1 OPT with less than six months remaining, surface that timeline in your first recruiter conversation so GHD can assess whether the hiring and onboarding timeline is workable. For STEM OPT extensions, USCIS requires the extension application to be filed before your current OPT expires. TN and EB-sponsored processes have different lead times, so the earlier you align on visa category, the better.
