Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Consulting roles at Slalom typically require a degree in a business, technology, or analytically focused field. Before applying, confirm your degree field maps directly to the Management Consultant job description, not just to consulting broadly, since USCIS evaluates specialty occupation at the role level.
Target Slalom offices in favorable LCA markets
Slalom operates across dozens of U.S. markets, and DOL prevailing wage levels vary significantly by location. Roles posted in mid-size markets can carry lower prevailing wage thresholds, which sometimes makes sponsorship more straightforward to initiate than in high-cost metros.
Prepare a consulting-specific portfolio before interviews
Slalom interviews for Management Consultant roles often include case-style assessments tied to client verticals. Having documented examples of cross-functional project delivery, stakeholder management, or quantifiable outcomes positions you strongly and shortens the internal approval process for extending a sponsored offer.
Clarify your visa type early in the offer stage
Slalom sponsors multiple visa categories, so the right pathway depends on your nationality, degree, and current status. During offer negotiations, ask the recruiting team directly which visa type they intend to file and whether premium processing is part of the package, since consulting project start dates are often fixed.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Management Consultant roles at Slalom
Slalom posts Management Consultant openings across markets and practice areas at different times. Migrate Mate filters active Slalom job listings by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can identify the right opening for your background without manually tracking dozens of postings.
Understand how travel requirements affect your visa status
Management Consultants at Slalom frequently work on-site at client locations across multiple states. If you're on H-1B status, USCIS requires your employer to file an amended petition or list covered worksites on the LCA for long-term placements outside your primary work location.

Find Management Consultant at Slalom JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Slalom sponsor H-1B visas for Management Consultants?
Yes, Slalom sponsors H-1B visas for Management Consultant roles. The process requires your employer to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then submit an I-129 petition to USCIS. Because the H-1B cap lottery runs once per year, your start date depends heavily on when you receive an offer relative to the April filing window.
How do I apply for Management Consultant jobs at Slalom?
Applications go through Slalom's careers portal, where roles are listed by market and practice area. Tailoring your resume to reflect project-based consulting experience, client-facing deliverables, and any relevant industry vertical strengthens your candidacy. You can also browse active Slalom Management Consultant openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate.
Which visa types does Slalom commonly use for Management Consultant roles?
Slalom sponsors H-1B visas for most international hires in consulting roles. Australian citizens are often routed through the E-3, which has no lottery and renews in two-year increments. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status. Recent graduates with F-1 OPT can begin work before an H-1B petition is filed, and Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 is available for longer-term employees.
What qualifications does Slalom expect for Management Consultant roles?
Slalom typically hires Management Consultants with a bachelor's or master's degree in business, engineering, information systems, or a related analytical field. Beyond academic credentials, hiring managers prioritize demonstrated experience with client delivery, structured problem-solving, and cross-functional project management. Industry-specific knowledge aligned to Slalom's practice areas, such as technology transformation or operations, strengthens your application considerably.
How do I time my application around the H-1B filing cycle?
USCIS opens H-1B cap registrations in March for an October 1 start date. If you receive a Slalom offer between April and September, your attorney can file after the cap opens the following year, or your employer can pursue a cap-exempt route if applicable. F-1 OPT and E-3 candidates face different timelines and can often start sooner without waiting for the annual lottery.
