Align your portfolio to Slalom's delivery model
Slalom organizes work around local markets and named client relationships, not staffing pools. Frame your experience around owning client outcomes end-to-end, not just managing workstreams. Project Directors who can show P&L accountability and executive stakeholder management get furthest in their process.
Confirm your visa category before applying
Slalom sponsors several work visa types, so your eligibility shapes the conversation from day one. Australian citizens should raise the E-3 pathway early since it bypasses the H-1B lottery. Canadians and Mexicans in consulting can explore TN status under the USMCA professional categories.
Use Migrate Mate to target open Project Director roles
Slalom posts Project Director openings across its local market offices, and availability shifts frequently. Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship roles at Slalom so you're applying to positions where international hiring is already approved, not guessing from a generic careers page.
Prepare a specialty occupation narrative for H-1B filings
USCIS scrutinizes consulting roles closely because job duties can appear generalist. Before your employer files the I-129, work with their immigration counsel to document how your Project Director responsibilities require a specific bachelor's-level field of study, not just broad business experience.
Negotiate your start date around LCA and petition timelines
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting any H-1B petition to USCIS. Standard processing runs four to six months without premium processing. Build that into your offer negotiation so your start date doesn't land before your status is approved.
Gather client-facing evidence before reference checks
Slalom's interview process for Project Directors typically includes a case or scenario round assessing how you run client relationships under pressure. Assemble written references or project summaries from past clients before final rounds. Strong third-party validation also supports visa petitions that require demonstrating specialized expertise.

Find Project Director at Slalom JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Slalom sponsor H-1B visas for Project Directors?
Yes, Slalom sponsors H-1B visas for Project Director roles. Because consulting positions face additional scrutiny from USCIS around specialty occupation requirements, Slalom's immigration counsel typically works with candidates to document that the role requires a specific degree field, not just a general business background. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, timing your application around the annual lottery is essential.
Which visa types does Slalom commonly use for Project Directors?
Slalom sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for this role, along with employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. Australian citizens are well positioned to pursue the E-3, which has no lottery and allows year-round filing. Candidates on F-1 OPT should confirm their STEM OPT extension eligibility, as Project Director roles in consulting may or may not qualify depending on specific duties.
What qualifications does Slalom expect for Project Director roles?
Slalom typically looks for several years of progressively senior project leadership in a consulting or professional services environment. A bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the client portfolio you'd be managing is standard, and many candidates also hold an MBA or advanced technical credential. Beyond credentials, the emphasis is on demonstrated ownership of large client engagements, executive relationship management, and delivery accountability under commercial pressure.
How do I apply for Project Director jobs at Slalom?
You can search and apply through Slalom's careers site, where roles are organized by local market office. For a faster way to find open Project Director positions where international sponsorship is already part of the hiring plan, browse Migrate Mate, which surfaces verified sponsorship roles at Slalom filtered by visa type. Applying through a referral from someone inside a local Slalom office also accelerates screening significantly.
How do I plan my timeline if Slalom is sponsoring my visa transfer?
If you're transferring an existing H-1B to Slalom, you can start work on the filing receipt under portability rules, so a gap in employment is not required. For new H-1B petitions, standard USCIS processing runs four to six months; premium processing shortens that to roughly fifteen business days. For E-3 or TN candidates, consular processing timelines are shorter but still require a certified LCA from DOL before the interview can proceed.
