Frame your portfolio around enterprise technical wins
Google's Customer Solutions Engineer interviews emphasize demonstrated impact with enterprise clients. Document specific examples where you translated technical architecture into business outcomes, as this directly mirrors the role's day-to-day expectations and strengthens your visa petition's specialty occupation case.
Target Google's gTech and Google Cloud divisions
Customer Solutions Engineer openings at Google are concentrated in gTech and Google Cloud. Filtering your search to these divisions surfaces the roles most likely to have active headcount and established sponsorship workflows for international hires in this function.
Align your degree field to the role's technical core
USCIS requires a direct connection between your degree field and the specialty occupation. For this role, degrees in computer science, electrical engineering, or information systems provide the strongest alignment. A marketing or business degree alone is unlikely to satisfy the specialty occupation requirement.
Clarify sponsorship eligibility before the final interview round
Google's recruiting process for Customer Solutions Engineers typically involves multiple technical and panel rounds. Raise your visa sponsorship needs with your recruiter after the technical screen but before the final round, so the offer stage moves without delays.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Customer Solutions Engineer roles at Google
Browsing open roles by employer and visa type saves significant time during a job search. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Google Customer Solutions Engineer positions where H-1B, H-1B1, or E-3 sponsorship is available, so you're applying to verified opportunities.
Understand your E-3 or H-1B1 timeline if you hold Australian or Singapore citizenship
If you're Australian or Singaporean, Google can sponsor you on an E-3 or H-1B1 visa outside the H-1B lottery. Both visas require a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL before your application proceeds, which typically takes seven to ten business days.

Find Customer Solutions Engineer at Google JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Solutions Engineers?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Customer Solutions Engineers. This role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria because it requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or engineering. Google also sponsors H-1B1 visas for Singaporean nationals and E-3 visas for Australian nationals, providing options outside the standard H-1B lottery.
How do I apply for Customer Solutions Engineer jobs at Google?
Applications go through Google's careers portal at careers.google.com, where you can search by role title and location. Migrate Mate also aggregates open Customer Solutions Engineer positions at Google filtered by visa sponsorship type, which makes it easier to identify relevant openings. Google's process typically includes a recruiter screen, technical assessments, and a panel interview before an offer is extended.
Which visa types does Google commonly use for Customer Solutions Engineers?
Google most commonly uses the H-1B for Customer Solutions Engineers. For eligible nationals, the E-3 (Australian citizens) and H-1B1 (Singaporean and Chilean citizens) are also available and carry the advantage of no lottery requirement. In cases involving intracompany transfers from a Google entity abroad, the L-1B for specialized knowledge workers may apply.
What qualifications does Google expect for Customer Solutions Engineer roles?
Google typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, combined with hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, APIs, or enterprise software deployment. Client-facing experience and the ability to code in at least one language such as Python or Java are consistent requirements across Customer Solutions Engineer job postings at Google.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Google Customer Solutions Engineer offer?
After an offer is signed, Google's legal team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL, which is typically certified within seven to ten business days. The H-1B petition is then submitted to USCIS, with standard processing taking three to five months. Premium processing, which USCIS currently adjudicates within 15 business days, is an option that Google may elect depending on your start date requirements.
