INTRODUCTION
The Creative Lab is a small team of designers, writers, programmers, filmmakers, producers and business thinkers whose mission is to remind the world what it is they love about Google. Our job is to make Google’s magic more magical, help advance and invent Google’s future, and to communicate Google’s innovations, intentions and ideals in ways that makes us all immensely proud.
As a Senior Team Lead, you will work in close partnership with creative and production counterparts to set the pace for projects and the team. You will focus on helping to solve problems for users through the use of Google products and features. This may involve the creation of marketing campaigns, advertising, UX or UI, and the development of products. You'll work with senior executives, product managers, designers, producers, copywriters, external partners, production teams, legal/business affairs, and others to own, drive, and execute marketing initiatives.
Know the user. Know the magic. Connect the two. At its core, marketing at Google starts with technology and ends with the user, bringing both together in unconventional ways. Our job is to demonstrate how Google's products solve the world's problems—from the everyday to the epic, from the mundane to the monumental. And we approach marketing in a way that only Google can—changing the game, redefining the medium, making the user the priority, and ultimately, letting the technology speak for itself.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand and own the business context for Creative Lab projects, set the pace in partnership with creative and production counterparts, and manage the direction, output, and overall success of projects and the team.
- Lead a team of marketing specialists within the Creative Lab.
- Build bridges with and across Google’s product teams, marketing, research, and UX.
- Partner with Creative Lab peers to get ideas to users.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 9 years of experience in marketing working across brand or product strategy.
- Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Experience developing and executing marketing plans and driving projects from start to finish.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in consulting and working with behavioral marketing data.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and agencies.
- Ability to determine the optimal way to position Google's products and brands in the market.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Creative Jobs at Google Jobs
Build a portfolio that shows systems thinking
Google Creative roles, especially in brand and UX, prioritize candidates who design at scale. Frame your portfolio around how your work functioned across platforms or product surfaces, not just isolated deliverables.
Target roles tied to Google's product teams
Creative positions embedded in product orgs like Google Cloud, YouTube, or Google Workspace tend to have clearer sponsorship pathways than agency-style roles. Identify which product area your specialization maps to before applying.
Get your degree equivalency documented before interviews
Google's specialty occupation filings require your degree to align directly with the Creative role. If your qualification is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved service before your final interview round.
Understand the LCA filing step in your offer timeline
Before USCIS can adjudicate your H-1B petition, Google's legal team must certify a Labor Condition Application with the DOL. This step typically adds one to two weeks to your start date timeline, so factor it in when negotiating your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Creative roles at Google
Filtering for visa-sponsoring employers in the technology sector saves significant time. Migrate Mate surfaces active Creative openings at companies like Google that have a verified sponsorship history, so you're applying where it counts.

Find Creative at Google JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Creatives?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Creative roles including UX writers, brand designers, motion designers, and content strategists. The role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. Google's legal team handles the petition filing, but you'll need to provide degree credentials and employment documentation.
How do I apply for Creative jobs at Google?
Apply directly through Google's careers site or find verified openings on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles with active visa sponsorship. Tailor your portfolio and resume to the specific Creative function you're targeting, whether that's UX writing, visual design, or brand. Google's Creative hiring process typically includes a portfolio review followed by multiple rounds of structured interviews.
Which visa types does Google sponsor for Creative roles?
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Creative positions. H-1B is the most broadly available and covers nationals from most countries. H-1B1 is limited to Chilean and Singaporean nationals, and E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens. All three require the role to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS definitions.
What qualifications does Google expect for Creative roles?
Google's Creative roles typically require a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, such as graphic design, visual communications, UX design, or English for writing-focused roles. Beyond credentials, Google evaluates portfolio quality, systems-level thinking, and experience working within large product ecosystems. Senior roles often require demonstrated experience leading cross-functional creative projects at scale.
How do I plan my timeline if Google is sponsoring my visa?
Timeline depends on which visa type applies to you. E-3 and H-1B1 petitions are filed directly with USCIS or at a consulate and are generally processed within a few weeks to a few months. H-1B requires cap registration in March for an October 1 start date, unless you qualify for a cap-exempt filing. Once you have an offer, ask Google's HR team for an estimated filing and start date so you can manage your current visa status accordingly.
