INTRODUCTION
Every day, tens of millions of people come to Roblox to explore, create, play, learn, and connect with friends in 3D immersive digital experiences– all created by our global community of developers and creators.
At Roblox, we’re building the tools and platform that empower our community to bring any experience that they can imagine to life. Our vision is to reimagine the way people come together, from anywhere in the world, and on any device. We’re on a mission to connect a billion people with optimism and civility, and looking for amazing talent to help us get there.
A career at Roblox means you’ll be working to shape the future of human interaction, solving unique technical challenges at scale, and helping to create safer, more civil shared experiences for everyone.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Roblox is looking for a Creative Manager to lead the daily creative output and operations of our in-house studio team. This is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role for someone who is equal parts creative leader and operational thinker, someone who can steer creative direction, build scalable systems, and ensure work moves seamlessly from brief to delivery without sacrificing craft.
You will oversee and mentor a multidisciplinary team of designers, copywriters, and editors — raising the bar on quality while keeping the engine running. This means you’re as comfortable giving sharp creative feedback as you are triaging a packed production queue. You have an advanced understanding of design, copy, and video editing, and you know what great looks like across all of them. Your ability to coordinate creative workflows, obsess over details, and lead with a collaborative mentality will be integral as we bring millions of people together through shared experiences.
You Will:
- Steer, review, and approve creative work across design, copy, and video — ensuring everything that ships meets the highest standards of quality, brand alignment, and strategic relevance.
- Build and refine scalable creative workflows, processes, and systems that enable operational excellence and speed of delivery without sacrificing craft.
- Manage incoming briefs, set priorities, and balance workloads so that your team can focus on doing their best work within agreed-upon timelines.
- Proactively identify creative and operational bottlenecks, removing obstacles before they slow your team down.
- Mentor and develop your direct reports through continuous feedback, coaching, and performance management setting a high bar and helping your team reach it.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across marketing, product, and business teams to ensure creative work is strategically aligned and on-brand across all surfaces.
- Champion a team culture rooted in diversity, inclusion, creative courage, and mutual respect.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
You Have:
- 10+ years of experience in creative roles with 3–5 years in a leadership or management position, ideally at a brand, agency, or production studio. You have a portfolio or body of work that demonstrates strong creative judgment and range.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams (designers, copywriters, editors) — not just overseeing output, but actively developing talent and elevating the quality of work across the team.
- A deep, practiced understanding of design, copywriting, and video editing. You don’t need to be an expert in all three, but you need to know what excellent looks like in each and give feedback that makes the work better.
- Experience building and scaling creative workflows and operational systems — you know how to bring structure to creative chaos without killing the energy.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. You’re comfortable presenting creative work, advocating for your team’s recommendations, and navigating feedback with confidence and composure.
- Experience managing vendor and agency relationships, with the ability to brief, direct, and quality-check external partners to the same standard as in-house work.
- High fluency in creative tools including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro), Google Slides, and Keynote.
- An obsession with craft: You hold yourself and your team to a high standard. You recognize that being detail-oriented is a badge of honor, and that going the extra mile to produce top-tier work even on tight timelines is non-negotiable.
- A thoughtful, resilient mindset. You understand that creative work is iterative, feedback is a gift, and the ability to operate nimbly in ambiguity is what separates good managers from great ones.
- A self-starter mentality: You’re comfortable owning your domain end-to-end, managing competing priorities, and making smart decisions without needing to be told what to do next.
You Are:
- A creative leader who still cares deeply about the work, not just managing it, but shaping it.
- You bring a rare combination of creative taste and operational rigor. You can spot what’s not working in a layout and what’s not working in a workflow with equal precision.
- You lead with clarity. Your team always knows what’s expected, what good looks like, and how to get there.
- You are experienced in managing multidisciplinary creative teams (design, copy, editing) and understand the nuances of each craft well enough to give meaningful, specific feedback.
- You thrive in fast-paced environments and know how to build systems that let your team move quickly without cutting corners on quality.
- A champion for your people — invested in their growth, protective of their time, and committed to creating a culture of openness, trust, and high standards.

Build a portfolio around interactive experiences
Roblox evaluates Creative candidates heavily on portfolio work. Tailor your portfolio to show experience with game environments, virtual world aesthetics, or immersive user experiences rather than traditional media or print work.
Target roles with a strong design specialization
Roblox's Creative openings frequently require specialization in areas like UX, brand identity, or 3D art rather than generalist design skills. Applying to roles that closely match your degree field strengthens your H-1B specialty occupation case.
Clarify sponsorship intent during the offer stage
Roblox has sponsored visas across multiple categories for Creative hires. Ask your recruiter directly which visa type they intend to file for your role, since the path from offer to filing varies depending on whether you need a change of status or consular processing.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Creative roles at Roblox
Filtering for sponsorship-confirmed Creative jobs at Roblox saves time over broad job boards. Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles filtered by visa type so you're only applying to positions where your work authorization is already in scope.

Find Creative at Roblox JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Roblox sponsor H-1B visas for Creatives?
Yes, Roblox sponsors H-1B visas for Creative roles. The role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Creative positions in UX, visual design, and game art at Roblox typically meet that threshold, but the specific job title and duties determine eligibility at the individual filing level.
How do I apply for Creative jobs at Roblox?
You can find open Creative roles on Roblox's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm your authorization is supported before applying. Roblox's Creative hiring process typically involves a portfolio review followed by multiple design or concept rounds, so having targeted work samples ready before you apply is important.
Which visa types does Roblox commonly use for Creative roles?
Roblox sponsors several visa categories for Creative hires, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN for Canadian and Mexican professionals, F-1 OPT for recent graduates, and employment-based Green Cards through EB-2 or EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, current status, and the specific role's requirements.
What qualifications does Roblox expect for Creative roles?
Roblox's Creative roles generally require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as graphic design, visual communication, game design, or fine arts, along with a demonstrable portfolio. Roles in 3D art, UX, and brand design often require additional specialization. For visa purposes, the degree field must connect directly to the job duties to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation standards.
How do I plan my timeline if I need Roblox to sponsor my visa?
The timeline depends on your current status. H-1B cap-subject cases follow a fixed cycle: USCIS registration in March, lottery results in April, and an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT with a STEM extension, you may have up to three years of work authorization to bridge the gap. E-3 and TN visas don't have annual caps, which gives those applicants more scheduling flexibility once an offer is in hand.
