Tailor your portfolio for fintech audiences
Affirm's creative work sits at the intersection of financial services and consumer trust. Before applying, curate portfolio pieces that show you can communicate complex financial concepts clearly, not just produce visually strong work for general consumer brands.
Target roles where design meets compliance
Fintech companies like Affirm require Creatives who understand regulatory communication, not just aesthetics. Roles tied to product design, lending disclosures, or consumer-facing UX often sit in departments with established sponsorship workflows and recurring hiring cycles.
Align your application to H-1B cap timelines
H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. If you're interviewing in the fall or winter, flag this window with your recruiter early so Affirm's legal team can prepare the Labor Condition Application with DOL before the registration deadline.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Creative roles
Creative openings at visa-sponsoring fintech companies disappear fast. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Creative positions at Affirm and similar employers, so you're applying to roles with confirmed sponsorship history rather than guessing from a generic job board.
Address specialty occupation requirements upfront
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for Creative roles closely, since not every design or content job clears the specialty occupation bar. Work with Affirm's immigration counsel to document how your specific role requires a directly related bachelor's degree, and prepare to provide a detailed job duties letter.

Find Creative at Affirm JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Affirm sponsor H-1B visas for Creatives?
Yes, Affirm sponsors H-1B visas for Creative roles. The process follows the standard USCIS H-1B cap timeline, with registration in March and petitions filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. Creative positions at Affirm typically need to clear the specialty occupation threshold, so expect the job offer letter to detail the specific degree requirements tied to the role.
Which visa types are commonly used for Creative roles at Affirm?
Affirm supports several visa categories for Creative hires, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering design or content roles, while TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying creative occupations. Longer-term sponsorship typically moves through H-1B and eventually permanent residence.
How do I apply for Creative jobs at Affirm?
Creative roles at Affirm are posted on their careers page and on curated platforms like Migrate Mate, which filters for visa-sponsoring employers. When applying, submit a portfolio alongside your resume since Affirm's hiring process for Creative functions evaluates work samples early. If you need visa sponsorship, flag that clearly in your application or initial recruiter screen to avoid late-stage misalignment.
What qualifications does Affirm look for in Creative candidates?
Affirm typically expects a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as graphic design, communications, or a comparable discipline, particularly for H-1B sponsorship where USCIS requires a specific educational match to the role. Beyond credentials, Affirm's Creative team values experience communicating financial or consumer products, proficiency in standard design tools, and a portfolio demonstrating both conceptual thinking and execution.
How do I navigate the visa filing timeline for a Creative offer at Affirm?
If your offer requires H-1B sponsorship, the critical window is January through April, when USCIS opens registration and accepts petitions. Affirm's legal team will need time to prepare and certify your Labor Condition Application with DOL before filing, so notify your recruiter of your visa needs as early as the offer stage, not after signing. F-1 OPT candidates should verify Affirm's E-Verify enrollment before their OPT start date to protect STEM extension eligibility.
