INTRODUCTION
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest. Our mission to deliver honest financial products that improve lives extends globally. To support this mission, we are building out the backbone of our fintech systems to ensure they are scalable, compliant, and capable of supporting rapid product innovation. We’re looking for a strong product leader to drive this vision forward!
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to own the product roadmap for subledger and reporting infrastructure, the Accounting ↔ Engineering interface, and reconciliation and controls that enable month-end close and auditability. This role owns the end-to-end journey of financial data from engineering systems to the general ledger/ERP and partners closely with Accounting, data, and platform teams.
What you’ll do:
- Own the financial reporting product roadmap: subledgers, standardized accounting-event interface, journal-entry flows, GL/ERP integrations, and reconciliation tooling.
- Work with Engineering to define subledger patterns and the Accounting ↔ Engineering interface: accounting-event schemas, API contracts, domain boundaries, and migration strategies for operational systems to adopt the standard.
- Translate accounting policy and audit requirements into product specs, posting logic, SOX controls, and implementable engineering requirements.
- Lead matching/reconciliation strategy and automation: run vendor evaluations, define recon rules and ownership, and deliver reconciliation automation for high-volume, critical accounts.
- Own data lineage, quality metrics, SLAs, monitoring, and remediation flows for critical reports and journal feeds.
- Run product discovery, prioritization, and cross-functional programs: scope pilots, set success metrics, manage tradeoffs, and deliver production systems with Engineering, Accounting, and Finance.
- Drive governance and change management: coordinate Accounting, Finance, Product and Engineering; own go-to-production signoffs, runbooks, and stakeholder training.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
What we’re looking for:
- 4+ years product management experience owning financial platforms or data products — responsible for roadmap, APIs, data models, and cross-functional delivery.
- Practical accounting experience required: hands-on accounting experience with direct ownership of month-end close, reconciliations, and external audits. CPA preferred. Practical domain expertise is more important than the credential alone.
- Proven track record of building and working knowledge of financial systems, subledger → GL flows, journal-entry design, reconciliations, SOX controls, and external audit processes.
- Strong technical fluency — data models, ETL/DBT, SQL, and API design — and the ability to partner tightly with engineering and data teams on lineage and transformations.
- Exceptional communicator and cross-functional influencer: translates accounting requirements into technical specs, drives consensus across Finance & Engineering, and presents tradeoffs to senior leaders.
- Willingness to work East Coast hours.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or other related fields; or equivalent practical experience.

Tailor your credentials to fintech finance
Affirm's Finance Analyst roles prioritize experience with consumer credit, loan performance modeling, or installment payment economics. Frame your resume around these areas specifically, not generic corporate finance. USCIS specialty occupation standards require a direct tie between your degree field and the role.
Target roles mapped to your visa type
Affirm sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT across its finance function, but not every open role is structured the same way. Use Migrate Mate to filter Finance Analyst openings at Affirm by the visa type that matches your current status before applying.
Prepare documentation that supports specialty occupation
For H-1B filings, your employer's attorney will need to show the Finance Analyst role requires a specific degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Gather transcripts, your degree certificate, and any credential evaluations early, especially if your degree is from outside the U.S.
Engage recruiters familiar with fintech visa sponsorship
Affirm's internal recruiting team handles sponsored roles differently than contract or short-term positions. When you reach out, confirm early that the specific Finance Analyst role is eligible for sponsorship. DOL Labor Condition Application requirements mean the employer must formally commit before filing.
Align offer timing with PERM green card eligibility
Affirm sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards through the PERM labor certification process. If your long-term goal is permanent residence, ask your hiring contact whether the Finance Analyst role has a defined sponsorship pathway once you clear your probationary period.

Does Affirm sponsor H-1B visas for Finance Analysts?
Yes, Affirm sponsors H-1B visas for Finance Analyst roles. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery, which opens each April for October 1 start dates. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, you can begin working while your H-1B petition is pending under the cap-gap provision, as long as your OPT was valid when the petition was filed.
How do I apply for Finance Analyst jobs at Affirm?
You can browse and apply for Finance Analyst positions at Affirm directly through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility. Affirm's Finance Analyst openings typically require a strong quantitative background, and the application process includes multiple rounds covering financial modeling, case studies, and cross-functional collaboration scenarios before an offer is extended.
Which visa types does Affirm commonly sponsor for Finance Analyst roles?
Affirm sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Finance Analyst roles, along with EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term sponsorship. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying finance or economics occupations. The right visa type depends on your citizenship, degree field, and current immigration status.
What qualifications does Affirm expect for Finance Analyst roles?
Affirm typically looks for a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related quantitative field, with some roles requiring a master's degree or CFA progress. Practical experience with financial modeling, SQL, or data analysis tools is commonly expected. Roles in credit risk or capital markets may also require familiarity with consumer lending or installment payment structures.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take if I receive an offer from Affirm?
Timeline depends on your visa type. For H-1B, your employer files in April and your status begins October 1, a roughly six-month window. For TN, approval can happen at the port of entry or through USCIS within a few weeks. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically takes one to three years before I-140 approval, depending on your country of birth and USCIS processing times.
