Align Your Resume to Google's Sales Methodology
Google's enterprise sales org looks for demonstrated experience with consultative, solution-based selling to C-suite stakeholders. Quantify deals closed, pipeline managed, and cross-functional collaboration with technical teams to mirror the language in their job postings.
Determine Which Visa Category Fits Your Background
Australian citizens should evaluate the E-3 alongside the H-1B. The E-3 has no lottery and a dedicated annual allocation that has never been exhausted, making it a more predictable path for eligible candidates targeting a specific start date.
Target Google's gTech and Cloud Sales Teams Specifically
Enterprise Sales Specialist openings are concentrated in Google Cloud and Google Workspace divisions. Filtering your search by these business units surfaces roles most likely to involve active headcount with sponsorship authority already approved by the hiring team.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsoring Roles
Not every Enterprise Sales Specialist listing at Google actively sponsors visas at the time of posting. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles where sponsorship has been confirmed, so you're applying to positions with a real pathway, not guessing from the job description.
Time Your Application Around H-1B Cap Deadlines
If you need H-1B sponsorship, Google must submit your registration in March for an October 1 start. Structure your interview timeline so you receive an offer no later than mid-February, giving Google's immigration team enough runway to file before the USCIS registration window closes.
Request the LCA Before Accepting a Written Offer
Google's immigration team files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your prevailing wage before the H-1B or E-3 petition proceeds. Confirming the LCA is in process before you resign from your current role protects you from delays that could affect your status.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Enterprise Sales Specialists?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Enterprise Sales Specialist roles. Because these positions require a specific bachelor's degree in a relevant field, they qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria. Google's internal immigration team handles the full petition process, including the Labor Condition Application filed with the DOL, so you won't need to coordinate that independently.
Which visa types does Google commonly sponsor for Enterprise Sales Specialist roles?
Google sponsors H-1B visas for most international candidates and the H-1B1 visa for nationals of Chile and Singapore. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 visa, which is processed separately from the H-1B lottery and generally has shorter timelines. The right category depends on your nationality, current status, and whether you're applying from inside or outside the United States.
What qualifications does Google expect for Enterprise Sales Specialist positions?
Google typically expects a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a related field, combined with several years of enterprise or B2B sales experience. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, or Google's own product suite is a strong differentiator. Roles within Google Cloud often require demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder deals at the enterprise level.
How do I apply for Enterprise Sales Specialist jobs at Google?
Applications go through Google's careers portal at careers.google.com, where you can filter by role type and location. Before applying, use Migrate Mate to identify which Enterprise Sales Specialist postings have a confirmed sponsorship history, which saves you from spending time on roles where sponsorship isn't actively offered. Tailor your application to the specific Google product area the role supports.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a Google Enterprise Sales Specialist role?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, work backward from the October 1 USCIS cap start date. Google must register you during the March lottery window, so you need an offer in hand by mid-February at the latest. For E-3 applicants, consular processing in Australia typically runs two to four weeks once the LCA is certified, allowing more flexibility on start dates throughout the year.
