Target roles that align with Fitch's core business
Fitch's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in analytical and quantitative roles, credit analysts, financial analysts, and ratings specialists. Applying to positions that directly support its investment and asset management operations gives you the strongest case for sponsorship.
Understand Fitch's sponsorship process before you apply
Fitch works with immigration counsel to manage H-1B filings, so expect a structured process. Ask your recruiter early whether the specific role is eligible for sponsorship, since not every position carries the same level of support from the firm.
Highlight your specialty occupation credentials
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations. For Fitch, that means demonstrating your degree directly relates to the analytical or financial role. A finance, economics, or quantitative degree paired with relevant experience strengthens your petition significantly.
Time your applications around the H-1B cap
Cap-subject H-1B petitions must be filed in April for an October start date. If you're targeting Fitch for a new H-1B, aim to have an offer confirmed well before March so Fitch's legal team can prepare your petition ahead of the registration window.
Use verified sponsorship data when researching open roles
Not every Fitch job posting will state sponsorship availability upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your applications on roles where H-1B support is confirmed rather than assumed.
Leverage Fitch's global footprint if you're already in the U.S.
If you're currently on OPT or another status, Fitch's established immigration program means transfers to H-1B status are a familiar process for their HR team. Demonstrating continuity and value during your initial employment period strengthens the internal case for sponsorship.
Fitch Ratings H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Fitch Ratings sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Fitch Ratings sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles across its U.S. operations. As a global credit rating agency operating in investment and asset management, Fitch regularly hires international professionals and has an immigration program in place to support H-1B petitions. Sponsorship is most common for analytical, financial, and technology-focused positions.
Which roles and departments at Fitch Ratings are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Fitch Ratings is most concentrated in roles that meet the specialty occupation standard, primarily credit analysts, ratings analysts, financial modeling specialists, and technology professionals. Departments focused on structured finance, corporate ratings, and quantitative research tend to hire internationally and are the most consistent sources of sponsored positions.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Fitch Ratings?
Once Fitch extends an offer for a sponsorship-eligible role, their HR and legal teams coordinate with immigration counsel to prepare your H-1B petition. You'll need to provide educational credentials, employment documentation, and details supporting the specialty occupation classification. The process is managed internally, so staying in close contact with your recruiter ensures nothing falls behind schedule.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Fitch Ratings that are open to sponsorship?
Many Fitch job postings don't explicitly state sponsorship eligibility, which can make searching frustrating. Migrate Mate lets you filter opportunities by verified sponsorship history, so you can identify Fitch roles where H-1B support is a realistic expectation rather than guesswork. Focusing on analytical and finance roles narrows your search to the strongest sponsorship candidates.
What timeline should I expect for H-1B sponsorship at Fitch Ratings?
For cap-subject H-1B petitions, expect the process to begin in early spring with USCIS registration, followed by petition filing in April and an employment start date no earlier than October 1. If you're transferring an existing H-1B to Fitch, the timeline is faster, often four to eight weeks from offer acceptance, depending on whether premium processing is used.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Fitch Ratings?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
