Target engineering and grid technology roles
Hitachi Energy's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical disciplines tied to power systems, grid automation, and energy transformation. Focus your applications on engineering, project management, and software roles where sponsorship demand is strongest.
Understand that both H-1B and Green Card pathways are available
Hitachi Energy sponsors both H-1B visas and permanent residency through EB-2 and EB-3 categories. If long-term U.S. immigration is your goal, it's worth asking recruiters early about their Green Card sponsorship process for your role level.
Apply well before the H-1B lottery registration window
Hitachi Energy must register H-1B petitions in March each year. To be considered, you need an offer confirmed before registration closes. Start conversations with their recruitment team in late autumn to maximize your chances of being included.
Highlight experience in energy transition or sustainable infrastructure
Hitachi Energy is deeply invested in decarbonization and grid modernization. Candidates with hands-on experience in renewable integration, HVDC systems, or smart grid technologies align directly with the work driving their active sponsorship hiring.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified open roles at Hitachi Energy

Prepare for a structured, multi-stage interview process

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Hitachi Energy sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Hitachi Energy sponsors H-1B visas and has a consistent track record of doing so across its U.S. operations. Sponsorship is primarily focused on technical and engineering roles tied to power systems, grid infrastructure, and energy technology. If you're in a specialty occupation within the energy sector, Hitachi Energy is a credible sponsoring employer worth targeting.
What types of visas does Hitachi Energy sponsor?
Hitachi Energy sponsors both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and permanent residency through the EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories. This makes it one of the more comprehensive sponsors in the energy sector, offering pathways for both temporary work authorization and long-term U.S. immigration. The Green Card pathway is particularly relevant for candidates in senior technical or engineering roles.
Which roles or departments at Hitachi Energy are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Hitachi Energy is most common in engineering, grid automation, power systems, and software development roles. Departments focused on HVDC technology, substation automation, and energy management systems tend to have the highest demand for specialized talent, making them the most active areas for H-1B and Green Card filings. Business and operations roles are less frequently sponsored.
How do I apply for a job at Hitachi Energy if I need visa sponsorship?
Start by identifying open roles that match your technical background, then confirm sponsorship eligibility early in the recruiter conversation. Migrate Mate lists verified sponsoring employers including Hitachi Energy, so you can browse current openings filtered by sponsorship history. Apply several months ahead of the H-1B registration window in March if you'll need cap-subject sponsorship.
How do I know if Hitachi Energy will sponsor my specific role?
Sponsorship eligibility depends on whether your role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. Most engineering and technical positions at Hitachi Energy meet this standard. The clearest way to confirm is to ask the recruiter or hiring manager directly during the first conversation, before advancing further in the process.
