Frame Your ML Leadership Around Travel Demand
Hopper's data science work centers on price prediction, trip timing, and demand forecasting. Tailor your resume and portfolio to show experience leading teams that built or deployed predictive models in dynamic, high-frequency data environments before you apply.
Confirm Specialty Occupation Fit Early
Data Science Manager roles can attract USCIS scrutiny if the position appears to involve general management rather than applied technical work. Document that your day-to-day role requires a specialized degree in statistics, computer science, or a related field.
Align Your Timeline to H-1B Cap Deadlines
If you need a new H-1B, registrations open in March for an October 1 start. Target Hopper's recruiting cycle to receive an offer well before March so your employer can register you in that year's lottery without rushing the I-129 filing.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Openings
Hopper posts Data Science Manager roles across multiple channels and hiring cycles. Browse Migrate Mate to track which positions are open, filter by sponsorship eligibility, and focus your outreach on live requisitions rather than cold applications.
Prepare PERM Documentation for EB-2 Elevation
Hopper has supported EB-2 and EB-3 pathways for data science hires. If permanent residency is your goal, ask your recruiter early whether the role has been or will be submitted for PERM labor certification, since DOL processing adds significant lead time.
Negotiate Visa Filing Terms Before Signing
Clarify in writing whether Hopper will cover H-1B attorney and filing fees, and whether premium processing is available. Some employers treat these as negotiable at the offer stage, and raising it after signing is harder.

Find Data Science Manager at Hopper JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hopper sponsor H-1B visas for Data Science Managers?
Yes, Hopper sponsors H-1B visas for Data Science Manager roles. The company has an established pattern of supporting work visa sponsorship for technical and data science positions, which makes it a viable target if you need H-1B status. Confirm sponsorship scope with your recruiter early in the process, since terms around premium processing and attorney fees can vary by role and budget cycle.
Which visa types are commonly used for Data Science Manager roles at Hopper?
H-1B is the most common pathway for Data Science Manager roles at Hopper, covering initial work authorization and extensions. For candidates pursuing permanent residency, Hopper has supported employment-based Green Card sponsorship through the EB-2 and EB-3 categories, which typically require a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before the immigrant petition can proceed.
What qualifications and experience does Hopper expect for a Data Science Manager?
Hopper expects Data Science Manager candidates to have a graduate or undergraduate degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, machine learning, or computer science, paired with hands-on experience leading data science teams. Given Hopper's focus on travel price prediction and demand modeling, demonstrated experience with forecasting systems, experimentation frameworks, or recommendation engines is a meaningful differentiator over general management credentials.
How do I apply for Data Science Manager jobs at Hopper?
Start by browsing open Data Science Manager requisitions at Hopper through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by sponsorship eligibility so you can confirm visa support before investing time in an application. Tailor your application to Hopper's core data science domains, which include price forecasting and travel demand, and be prepared for a multi-stage technical and behavioral interview process typical of senior data leadership roles.
How do I time my job search at Hopper around the H-1B process?
The H-1B registration window opens in early March each year, with an October 1 start date for selected candidates. To avoid missing the lottery, target Hopper's hiring cycle in the preceding months so you have time to receive an offer, complete onboarding paperwork, and allow Hopper's immigration counsel to prepare and submit your registration before the USCIS deadline closes.
