About The Job
As a member of the Finance and Strategy team, you won’t just report on the business—you will build the systems that run it. Your day-to-day mission is to help our leaders make high-stakes decisions across Hopper’s B2C, Media, and Sales verticals by merging deep financial intuition with AI-accelerated technical execution. We are moving away from manual, static modeling. We want a builder who views Claude and other LLMs as core teammates to automate workflows, architect complex SQL, and develop long-term FP&A tooling. Whether you're chatting with an AI to build a better tool or presenting a budget update to a leader, you’re in your element.
What Would Your Day-to-day Look Like
- Business Partnering: Act as a "Finance Engineer" for business leaders, translating complex operational drivers into automated reporting metrics to help them make better strategic decisions
- Predictive Strategic Planning Focus: Architect long-range forecasting models and engines that go beyond static spreadsheets. You’ll use AI to simulate "what-if" scenarios, helping the business navigate short-term volatility while building a resilient, code-based roadmap for the next 3–5 years.
- Technical Infrastructure & Automation: Build and maintain the code-based systems that power our finance engine. You’ll leverage Claude to write, debug, and optimize complex SQL and Big Query workflows to automate real-time dashboards and weekly performance briefings, ensuring our financial reporting is scalable and automated.
- GTM & Sales Architecture: Partner with the Sales and Media teams to engineer high-leverage Go-To-Market strategies. You’ll design automated frameworks to track sales velocity, customer acquisition costs (CAC), and pipeline health, using AI to model complex incentive structures and ROI simulations that align sales behavior with our long-term financial goals.
An ideal candidate has
- A degree in Business, Strategy, Finance, Math, Engineering, or other quantitative discipline
- 5-7+ years of experience in a top tier tech company

- Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to work autonomously; builder mindset

More about Hopper
At Hopper, we are on a mission to become the leading travel platform globally – powering Hopper’s mobile app, website and our B2B business, HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions). By leveraging massive amounts of data and advanced machine learning algorithms, Hopper combines its world-class travel agency offering with proprietary fintech products to bring transparency, flexibility and savings to travelers globally. We have developed several unique fintech solutions that address everything from pricing volatility to trip disruptions – helping people travel better and save more on their trips. The Hopper platform serves hundreds of millions of travelers globally and continues to capture market share around the world. The Hopper app has been downloaded over 120 million times and has become largely popular among younger travelers – with 70% of its users being Gen Z and millennials. While everyone knows us as the Gen Z and Millennial travel app, Hopper has evolved to become much more than that. In recent years, we’ve grown into a travel fintech provider, commerce platform, and global travel agency that powers some of the world’s largest brands. Through HTS, our B2B division, the company supercharges its partners’ direct channels by integrating our fintech products on their sites or powering end-to-end travel portals. Today, our partners include leading travel brands like Capital One, Nubank, Air Canada, and many more.
Here are just a few stats that demonstrate the company’s recent growth:
- Billions of dollars worth of travel and travel fintech are sold through Hopper and HTS’ channels every year.
- Our fintech products – including Cancel for Any Reason and Flight Disruption Assistance – have exceptionally strong CSAT because the terms are always clear, and customers receive instant, no-questions-asked resolutions.
- Almost 30% of our app customers purchase at least one fintech product when making a booking; and consumers are 1.6x more likely to repurchase if they add fintech to their booking vs if they booked just travel.
Given the success of its fintech products, Hopper launched a B2B initiative, HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions), which represents more than 75% of the business. Through HTS, any travel provider (airlines, hotels, banks, travel agencies, etc.) can integrate and seamlessly distribute Hopper’s fintech or travel inventory on their direct channels. As its first HTS partnership, the company partnered with Capital One to co-develop Capital One Travel, a new travel portal designed specifically for cardholders. Other HTS partners include Air Canada, Uber, CommBank, Nubank, Flair Airlines and many more.

Frame your portfolio around travel data problems
Hopper's analysts work with flight and hotel pricing data, demand forecasting, and booking funnel metrics. Tailor your portfolio to show experience with time-series analysis, price elasticity, or consumer behavior datasets before you apply.
Confirm H-1B eligibility before your first interview
Data Analyst roles can face USCIS scrutiny over specialty occupation status. Verify your degree aligns directly with the analytical methods the role requires, such as statistics, computer science, or economics, so your petition has a clean foundation.
Target Hopper's product analytics and growth teams specifically
Hopper structures analytics work around specific product verticals like flights, hotels, and fintech features. Identifying which team is hiring lets you speak directly to their data stack and KPIs, which signals genuine domain fit rather than general interest.
Clarify sponsorship intent in the recruiter screen
Ask directly whether the role is approved for H-1B sponsorship during the first recruiter call. Some open analyst positions are tied to headcount that hasn't cleared legal review, and surfacing this early saves you from advancing deep into a process that stalls.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship-ready openings
Not every Hopper Data Analyst posting will lead to a visa filing. Use Migrate Mate to browse roles with confirmed sponsorship history, so you're spending time on positions that have actually moved forward with work visa petitions for this function.
Understand how PERM timing affects EB-2 and EB-3 pathways
If Hopper offers permanent residence sponsorship, PERM labor certification with the DOL typically begins after one to two years in role. Ask your hiring manager during negotiations whether the company has a defined timeline for initiating the green card process for analysts.

Find Data Analyst at Hopper JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hopper sponsor H-1B visas for Data Analysts?
Yes, Hopper sponsors H-1B visas for Data Analyst roles. The company has an active sponsorship track record for analytical positions, though not every open listing is automatically approved for sponsorship. Confirm with the recruiter early in the process whether the specific role you're applying for is cleared for H-1B filing, since headcount approvals can vary by team and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are commonly used for Data Analyst roles at Hopper?
The H-1B is the primary nonimmigrant visa used for Data Analyst hires at Hopper. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Hopper has also sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which typically require PERM labor certification through the DOL. The right path depends on your qualifications, your nationality's priority date, and how long you've been with the company.
What qualifications and experience are expected for Data Analyst roles at Hopper?
Hopper typically expects proficiency in SQL and at least one analytical language such as Python or R, along with experience working with large behavioral or transactional datasets. Given the company's focus on travel pricing and demand, backgrounds in econometrics, forecasting, or marketplace analytics are particularly well-aligned. A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is generally the baseline, with advanced degrees strengthening H-1B specialty occupation eligibility.
How do I apply for Data Analyst jobs at Hopper?
You can browse and apply for Data Analyst positions at Hopper directly through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles with a confirmed visa sponsorship history so you can filter for positions that are realistically open to sponsored candidates. Before applying, review which product vertical the role sits in, since Hopper structures its analytics teams around specific business lines and tailoring your application to that context improves your chances of progressing.
How do I plan my timeline around the H-1B cap and Hopper's hiring process?
The H-1B lottery registration window opens in March each year for an October 1 start date, which means you need an offer and a signed petition in place well before then. If you're on OPT, confirm whether you qualify for the 24-month STEM extension, which gives you more runway if you miss a lottery cycle. Aligning your job search at Hopper to the January through February window gives you the best chance of entering the lottery with a confirmed sponsoring employer.
