- Almost 30% of our app customers purchase at least one fintech product when making a booking; and consumers are 1.6x more likely to repurchase if they add fintech to their booking vs if they booked just travel.
- Given the success of its fintech products, Hopper launched a B2B initiative, HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions), which represents more than 75% of the business. Through HTS, any travel provider (airlines, hotels, banks, travel agencies, etc.) can integrate and seamlessly distribute Hopper’s fintech or travel inventory on their direct channels.

Frame your portfolio around travel tech
Hopper's core product is a predictive travel booking platform. When preparing your resume and portfolio, highlight experience managing teams that built consumer-facing apps, real-time pricing engines, or recommendation systems. Generic engineering management credentials won't stand out here.
Target roles with backend infrastructure scope
Hopper consistently hires Development Managers overseeing distributed systems and data pipelines that power its fare prediction engine. If your background spans teams working on high-throughput APIs or ML-adjacent infrastructure, position that prominently in your application materials.
Confirm your employer's H-1B filing window
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed with USCIS by early April for an October 1 start date. If Hopper extends you an offer late in the cycle, negotiate a start date that aligns with the next available fiscal year to avoid gaps in authorization.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 eligibility early
Development Manager roles typically qualify under EB-2 if the position requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability. Confirm with Hopper's immigration counsel which category your role falls under before PERM labor certification begins, since the category affects your priority date and wait time.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Development Manager roles
Hopper posts Development Manager positions across multiple job boards, but not all listings surface sponsorship eligibility clearly. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Hopper roles that include visa sponsorship so you're only spending time on opportunities that are a real fit.
Prepare for a multi-panel technical leadership interview
Hopper's Development Manager interviews assess both engineering depth and cross-functional leadership in product-driven environments. Expect discussions about how you've managed delivery timelines, handled technical debt tradeoffs, and scaled teams, since these directly map to how Hopper structures its development organization.

Find Development Manager at Hopper JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hopper sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, Hopper sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. The company has an active history of filing H-1B petitions for technical and engineering leadership positions. If you receive an offer, Hopper's immigration counsel will typically manage the petition process, but confirm sponsorship intent explicitly during the offer negotiation stage to avoid surprises.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at Hopper?
Applications go through Hopper's careers page or job boards where the company actively recruits. For international candidates, Migrate Mate is the most direct way to browse open Development Manager positions at Hopper filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. Once you identify a role, submit your resume through the official listing and follow up after the first screening call to confirm the company's current sponsorship process.
Which visa types does Hopper commonly use for Development Manager roles?
Hopper sponsors both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based Green Cards, typically through the EB-2 or EB-3 preference categories, for Development Manager positions. H-1B is the most common starting point for new hires who need immediate work authorization. Green Card sponsorship usually follows after a period of employment, beginning with PERM labor certification filed with the DOL.
What qualifications does Hopper expect for Development Manager candidates?
Hopper generally looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field, combined with direct experience managing software engineering teams in a product-driven environment. Familiarity with agile delivery, distributed systems, and cross-functional collaboration is expected. For H-1B eligibility specifically, USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, which Development Manager positions at technology companies typically satisfy.
How do I time my application if I need visa sponsorship for a Development Manager role at Hopper?
If you need an H-1B and are not currently in the U.S. on a work-authorized status, the key constraint is the annual cap lottery, which runs in March for an October 1 start date. Starting your job search several months before that window gives Hopper time to process your offer and file your registration. If you're already on OPT or another work-authorized status, timing is more flexible, but confirm your authorization end date before accepting an offer.
