MORE ABOUT HOPPER
At Hopper, we are on a mission to become the leading travel platform globally – powering Hopper’s mobile app, website and our B2B business, HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions). By leveraging massive amounts of data and advanced machine learning algorithms, Hopper combines its world-class travel agency offering with proprietary fintech products to bring transparency, flexibility and savings to travelers globally. We have developed several unique fintech solutions that address everything from pricing volatility to trip disruptions – helping people travel better and save more on their trips.
The Hopper platform serves hundreds of millions of travelers globally and continues to capture market share around the world. The Hopper app has been downloaded over 120 million times and has become largely popular among younger travelers – with 70% of its users being Gen Z and millennials.
While everyone knows us as the Gen Z and Millennial travel app, Hopper has evolved to become much more than that. In recent years, we’ve grown into a travel fintech provider, commerce platform, and global travel agency that powers some of the world’s largest brands.
Through HTS, our B2B division, the company supercharges its partners’ direct channels by integrating our fintech products on their sites or powering end-to-end travel portals. Today, our partners include leading travel brands like Capital One, Nubank, Air Canada, and many more.
HERE ARE JUST A FEW STATS THAT DEMONSTRATE THE COMPANY’S RECENT GROWTH:
- Billions of dollars worth of travel and travel fintech are sold through Hopper and HTS’ channels every year.
- Our fintech products – including Cancel for Any Reason and Flight Disruption Assistance – have exceptionally strong CSAT because the terms are always clear, and customers receive instant, no-questions-asked resolutions.
- Almost 30% of our app customers purchase at least one fintech product when making a booking; and consumers are 1.6x more likely to repurchase if they add fintech to their booking vs if they booked just travel.
- Given the success of its fintech products, Hopper launched a B2B initiative, HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions), which represents more than 75% of the business.
Through HTS, any travel provider (airlines, hotels, banks, travel agencies, etc.) can integrate and seamlessly distribute Hopper’s fintech or travel inventory on their direct channels. As its first HTS partnership, the company partnered with Capital One to co-develop Capital One Travel, a new travel portal designed specifically for cardholders. Other HTS partners include Air Canada, Uber, CommBank, Nubank, Flair Airlines and many more.
Hopper has been named the #1 most innovative company in travel by Fast Company. Hopper has been downloaded over 120 million times and continues to have millions of new installs each month. Hopper is now the #3 largest online travel agency in North America and 70% of our app customers are Gen-Z and millennials travelers.
Hopper has raised over $750 million USD of private capital and is backed by some of the largest institutional investors and banks in the world. HTS is primed to continue its growth as the leading travel ecommerce provider in a $1 trillion online shopping category. The Hopper app and website will also continue to be the preferred travel provider for Gen Z and Millennials.

Align Your Stack With Hopper's Infrastructure
Hopper runs a cloud-native, microservices architecture handling real-time travel pricing at scale. Before applying, make sure your resume reflects hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines in high-availability environments rather than legacy on-premise tooling.
Target Roles Requiring Deep Cloud Expertise
Hopper's DevOps openings tend to cluster around reliability and platform engineering. Filtering for roles that mention SRE responsibilities or cloud cost optimization gives you better signal on which positions are actively hiring versus headcount placeholders sitting open.
Confirm H-1B Sponsorship Before Your First Interview
Ask your recruiter directly during the screening call whether the role is approved for H-1B sponsorship. Some DevOps positions at tech-adjacent travel companies are filled through contractors or are excluded from sponsorship budgets, so confirming early saves weeks of wasted process.
Prepare Your LCA Documentation for Travel Industry Wage Levels
Hopper's DevOps salaries must meet DOL prevailing wage thresholds for the posted work location. Review the relevant wage level for your target job title on the DOL's Foreign Labor Certification Data Center before negotiating, so your offer aligns with what the LCA will certify.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Hopper DevOps Openings
Searching general job boards often surfaces stale listings or roles where sponsorship status is unclear. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Hopper DevOps positions verified for visa sponsorship, so you're applying to roles where the path to H-1B or Green Card is already confirmed.
Time Your Application Around H-1B Cap Deadlines
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start date. If you're targeting Hopper without a cap-exempt status, getting an offer signed and your employer ready to register by late February is critical. Missing the window means waiting another full year unless you qualify for cap-exempt filing.

Find DevOps at Hopper JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hopper sponsor H-1B visas for DevOps roles?
Yes, Hopper has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for technical roles including DevOps. Sponsorship availability can vary by specific position and hiring cycle, so confirming with the recruiter during your initial screening call is the most reliable way to verify a particular role is approved for H-1B filing before investing time in the process.
How do I apply for DevOps jobs at Hopper?
You can browse and apply for DevOps openings at Hopper directly through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where visa sponsorship has been confirmed. Tailoring your application to highlight cloud infrastructure experience relevant to a high-traffic consumer travel platform, specifically around reliability, CI/CD, and cost optimization, will strengthen your candidacy significantly.
Which visa types does Hopper commonly use for DevOps hires?
Hopper primarily sponsors H-1B visas for DevOps engineers, which requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. For longer-term immigration pathways, Hopper has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, which typically involves a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before the immigrant petition can proceed.
What qualifications does Hopper look for in DevOps candidates?
Hopper's DevOps roles generally expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, along with hands-on cloud infrastructure experience. Practical skills in Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, and observability tooling matter more than years of experience alone. Experience operating systems at scale in a consumer-facing or travel technology environment is a meaningful differentiator.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take if I get a DevOps offer from Hopper?
For H-1B sponsorship, your employer first files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, which typically takes seven business days under standard processing. The H-1B petition is then filed with USCIS, with standard processing running several months and premium processing available for a faster decision. Building at least four to five months of lead time into your offer and start date planning is realistic for a smooth transition.
