By leveraging massive amounts of data and advanced machine learning algorithms, Hopper combines its world-class travel agency offering with proprietary fintech products to bring transparency, flexibility and savings to travelers globally. We have developed several unique fintech solutions that address everything from pricing volatility to trip disruptions – helping people travel better and save more on their trips. The Hopper platform serves hundreds of millions of travelers globally and continues to capture market share around the world. The Hopper app has been downloaded over 120 million times and has become largely popular among younger travelers – with 70% of its users being Gen Z and millennials. While everyone knows us as the Gen Z and Millennial travel app, Hopper has evolved to become much more than that. In recent years, we’ve grown into a travel fintech provider, commerce platform, and global travel agency that powers some of the world’s largest brands. Through HTS, our B2B division, the company supercharges its partners’ direct channels by integrating our fintech products on their sites or powering end-to-end travel portals. - Our fintech products – including Cancel for Any Reason and Flight Disruption Assistance – have exceptionally strong CSAT because the terms are always clear, and customers receive instant, no-questions-asked resolutions.
- Almost 30% of our app customers purchase at least one fintech product when making a booking; and consumers are 1.6x more likely to repurchase if they add fintech to their booking vs if they booked just travel.
- Given the success of its fintech products, Hopper launched a B2B initiative, HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions), which represents more than 75% of the business. Through HTS, any travel provider (airlines, hotels, banks, travel agencies, etc.) can integrate and seamlessly distribute Hopper’s fintech or travel inventory on their direct channels.
- As its first HTS partnership, the company partnered with Capital One to co-develop Capital One Travel, a new travel portal designed specifically for cardholders. Other HTS partners include Air Canada, Uber, CommBank, Nubank, Flair Airlines and many more.

Frame your experience around travel distribution
Hopper's BD roles focus on partnerships with hotels, airlines, and OTAs. Tailor your resume to highlight deal structures, channel partnerships, or revenue growth in hospitality or travel tech specifically, not just general business development.
Research Hopper's partnership portfolio before applying
Hopper has built deep integrations with travel suppliers and fintech partners. Referencing their known partnerships in your cover letter or interview signals genuine product knowledge, which BD hiring managers at travel companies weigh heavily.
Clarify your visa status early in the process
Raise sponsorship in the recruiter screening call, not at the offer stage. Hopper's talent team needs lead time to coordinate with immigration counsel, and surfacing your H-1B or Green Card needs early prevents delays in the offer process.
Understand how PERM fits a BD career trajectory
If Hopper sponsors EB-2 or EB-3 for your role, PERM labor certification requires DOL to confirm no qualified U.S. worker was available. BD roles with specialized travel tech or partnership experience typically support this more cleanly than generalist titles.
Track Hopper's open BD roles using Migrate Mate
Hopper posts Business Development Manager openings across multiple markets and seniority levels at different times. Use Migrate Mate to filter and monitor Hopper's current openings by role type so you can apply as soon as a sponsorship-eligible position goes live.
Prepare for a case-study style interview format
Hopper's BD interviews often involve a partnership or market expansion scenario. Prepare a structured case using a real travel vertical, such as hotel metasearch or fintech travel cards, to demonstrate how you'd identify and close a strategic deal.

Find Business Development Manager at Hopper JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hopper sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Managers?
Yes, Hopper has a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas for Business Development Manager roles. Because BD positions at Hopper involve complex partnership strategy in the travel tech space, they typically meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS requires. Your degree should align with business, economics, or a related field to support the petition.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Development Manager roles at Hopper?
H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa path for BD roles at Hopper. For longer-term sponsorship, Hopper has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification. If you're already on OPT or a dependent visa with work authorization, Hopper may be able to transfer or extend your status without waiting for an H-1B cap cycle.
How do I apply for Business Development Manager jobs at Hopper?
Applications go through Hopper's careers page, where BD roles are listed by region and seniority. Migrate Mate aggregates Hopper's open Business Development Manager positions in one place, which is useful if you want to track new postings without checking the careers page manually. Include any relevant travel tech or partnership experience prominently, and note your visa status in the application where prompted.
What qualifications does Hopper look for in Business Development Manager candidates?
Hopper prioritizes candidates with experience in travel, hospitality, or adjacent fintech verticals. A bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a related field is standard, and many BD roles at Hopper expect demonstrated experience closing or managing partnerships at scale. Familiarity with OTA ecosystems, supplier integrations, or platform distribution models gives candidates a meaningful edge.
How do I time my application around the H-1B cap and Hopper's hiring cycle?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in early March for a cap year starting October 1. If you're currently on OPT, applying to Hopper between October and February gives your employer enough runway to file a cap-subject petition before the March registration window. If you miss the lottery, Hopper may be able to keep you on OPT STEM extension or explore cap-exempt alternatives while you reapply the following year.
