More About Hopper
At Hopper, we are on a mission to become the leading travel platform globally – powering Hopper’s mobile app, website and our B2B business, HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions). By leveraging massive amounts of data and advanced machine learning algorithms, Hopper combines its world-class travel agency offering with proprietary fintech products to bring transparency, flexibility and savings to travelers globally. We have developed several unique fintech solutions that address everything from pricing volatility to trip disruptions – helping people travel better and save more on their trips. The Hopper platform serves hundreds of millions of travelers globally and continues to capture market share around the world. The Hopper app has been downloaded over 120 million times and has become largely popular among younger travelers – with 70% of its users being Gen Z and millennials. While everyone knows us as the Gen Z and Millennial travel app, Hopper has evolved to become much more than that. In recent years, we’ve grown into a travel fintech provider, commerce platform, and global travel agency that powers some of the world’s largest brands. Through HTS, our B2B division, the company supercharges its partners’ direct channels by integrating our fintech products on their sites or powering end-to-end travel portals. Today, our partners include leading travel brands like Capital One, Nubank, Air Canada, and many more.
Here are just a few stats that demonstrate the company’s recent growth:
- Billions of dollars worth of travel and travel fintech are sold through Hopper and HTS’ channels every year.
- Our fintech products – including Cancel for Any Reason and Flight Disruption Assistance – have exceptionally strong CSAT because the terms are always clear, and customers receive instant, no-questions-asked resolutions.
- Almost 30% of our app customers purchase at least one fintech product when making a booking; and consumers are 1.6x more likely to repurchase if they add fintech to their booking vs if they booked just travel.
Given the success of its fintech products, Hopper launched a B2B initiative, HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions), which represents more than 75% of the business. Through HTS, any travel provider (airlines, hotels, banks, travel agencies, etc.) can integrate and seamlessly distribute Hopper’s fintech or travel inventory on their direct channels. As its first HTS partnership, the company partnered with Capital One to co-develop Capital One Travel, a new travel portal designed specifically for cardholders. Other HTS partners include Air Canada, Uber, CommBank, Nubank, Flair Airlines and many more. Hopper has been named the #1 most innovative company in travel by Fast Company. Hopper has been downloaded over 120 million times and continues to have millions of new installs each month. Hopper is now the #3 largest online travel agencies in North America and 70% of our app customers are Gen-Z and millennials travelers. Hopper has raised over $750 million USD of private capital and is backed by some of the largest institutional investors and banks in the world. HTS is primed to continue its growth as the leading travel e-commerce provider in a $1 trillion online shopping category. The Hopper app and website will also continue to be the preferred travel provider for Gen Z and Millennials. Come take off with us!

Frame your stack around travel tech systems
Hopper's engineering interviews test real-time data pipelines, mobile-first architecture, and dynamic pricing logic. Review your experience with high-throughput APIs and stateful frontend frameworks before applying, so your background maps directly to what they're building.
Confirm your H-1B status before cap deadlines
If you're on OPT, your H-1B registration window opens in March for an October 1 start. Hopper files cap-subject petitions, so missing the registration window means waiting a full year regardless of where you are in the interview process.
Target roles labeled backend or full stack explicitly
Hopper posts a range of engineering roles, but Full Stack Engineer titles are the ones most consistently supported through the visa sponsorship pipeline. Applying to ambiguously titled roles can slow down the immigration paperwork if the job duties need reclassification later.
Understand how PERM fits your long-term plan
Hopper sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which require PERM labor certification through DOL. Full Stack Engineers in software-specific roles often qualify for EB-2 if the position requires an advanced degree or its equivalent in work experience.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Hopper's open Full Stack roles
Browsing general job boards makes it hard to confirm which postings are open to visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters Hopper's Full Stack Engineer listings specifically for sponsored roles, so you're applying where immigration support is already confirmed.
Negotiate your start date around petition timelines
Once Hopper extends an offer, your recruiter and their immigration counsel will need time to file the Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. Build at least four to six weeks of buffer into your expected start date to avoid gaps in authorization.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Hopper sponsor H-1B visas for Full Stack Engineers?
Yes, Hopper sponsors H-1B visas for Full Stack Engineers. The company has an established immigration process for software engineering roles and works with immigration counsel to handle petition filings. If you're on OPT or a current H-1B looking to transfer, Hopper's Full Stack Engineer openings are worth targeting directly.
How do I apply for Full Stack Engineer jobs at Hopper?
You can apply through Hopper's careers page or find their sponsored Full Stack Engineer roles filtered by visa eligibility on Migrate Mate. Applications typically move through a recruiter screen, a technical assessment focused on system design and coding, and then a series of engineering interviews. Flagging your visa status early helps the team confirm sponsorship availability before you're deep in the process.
Which visa types does Hopper commonly use for Full Stack Engineers?
Hopper sponsors H-1B visas for Full Stack Engineers in nonimmigrant status and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for permanent residence. Full Stack roles at Hopper generally qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards because they require at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.
What qualifications does Hopper expect for Full Stack Engineer roles?
Hopper's Full Stack Engineer roles typically require proficiency across both frontend frameworks and backend services, with practical experience in building and maintaining production systems at scale. Given Hopper's focus on real-time travel pricing and mobile applications, experience with data-intensive APIs, React or similar frameworks, and cloud infrastructure carries real weight in their hiring process. A relevant bachelor's degree or demonstrable equivalent experience is expected.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after receiving an offer from Hopper?
Timeline depends on your current status. For an H-1B transfer from another employer, USCIS allows you to start working once the petition is filed, typically within two to four weeks of an offer. For new H-1B cap filings, you'd need to clear the March lottery and wait for an October 1 start. PERM-based Green Card cases filed through DOL can take one to three years depending on your country of birth and the priority date queue.
