Align your credentials to LCA job codes
JPMorganChase files Labor Condition Applications with DOL before any visa petition. Check the OFLC disclosure data for the specific SOC codes tied to Technical Director roles so your resume mirrors the exact occupational classification they use.
Target internal mobility from contractor pipelines
JPMorganChase frequently converts long-term contractors and consulting staff into sponsored full-time Technical Directors. If you're already engaged through a vendor relationship, signal interest in direct employment early, before a role is posted externally.
Frame your technical scope in enterprise risk terms
Hiring panels at JPMorganChase evaluate Technical Director candidates on regulatory technology experience, including controls, audit readiness, and resilience architecture. Credentials that speak directly to financial services compliance carry more weight than general engineering leadership.
Browse sponsored Technical Director roles on Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to filter Technical Director openings at JPMorganChase by visa type. This saves time by surfacing only roles where sponsorship is actively on the table, rather than cold-applying and discovering eligibility issues late in the process.
Prepare for PERM timing if pursuing a Green Card
JPMorganChase initiates EB-2 and EB-3 PERM labor certifications for senior technical roles, but the DOL audit backlog means the process can run well beyond a year. Confirm the company's internal timeline expectations before accepting an offer that includes permanent residency as part of the package.

Find Technical Director at JPMorganChase JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for Technical Directors?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for Technical Director roles. The company files petitions through the annual USCIS H-1B cap lottery, which opens each March for an October 1 start date. Senior roles like Technical Director are also frequently supported with premium processing, which reduces USCIS adjudication time to 15 business days, giving hiring teams more predictability on start dates.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase commonly use for Technical Director roles?
JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Technical Directors. Australian citizens are well-positioned to request E-3 sponsorship, which has no lottery and a separate annual allocation. H-1B1 is available for Chilean and Singaporean nationals. Each visa type has different petition requirements and timelines, so confirming your category early in the hiring process matters.
What qualifications does JPMorganChase expect for Technical Director candidates?
JPMorganChase typically looks for deep engineering leadership experience in large-scale distributed systems, combined with demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional technology programs within regulated environments. Experience in financial services infrastructure, cloud migration at enterprise scale, or technology risk and controls functions strengthens your candidacy significantly. A relevant bachelor's degree is required for visa qualification, and advanced degrees or equivalent work history in financial technology are competitive differentiators.
How do I apply for Technical Director jobs at JPMorganChase?
You can find Technical Director openings at JPMorganChase through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles with active visa sponsorship so you're not wasting time on positions that won't support your immigration status. Applications go through JPMorganChase's own careers portal, where you'll complete an online profile. The hiring process for senior technical roles typically involves multiple rounds, including technical architecture discussions and leadership interviews with senior stakeholders.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Technical Director role at JPMorganChase?
For H-1B sponsorship, the timeline depends heavily on where you are in the cap cycle. If you miss the April lottery, the next petition window is nearly a year away. E-3 and H-1B1 visas move faster since they aren't lottery-dependent and can be filed year-round. For Green Card sponsorship via PERM, expect the DOL labor certification stage alone to take 12 to 18 months in current backlogs, often longer if an audit is triggered.
