Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Backend Software Developer Jobs at Klaviyo Jobs
Frame your systems experience around Klaviyo's stack
Klaviyo's backend runs on Python, Kafka, and large-scale data pipelines. Before applying, tailor your resume and portfolio to reflect distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or high-throughput API work so your credentials clearly map to their engineering priorities.
Target roles marked as engineering-level positions
Klaviyo's H-1B sponsorship applies to specialty occupation roles requiring a directly related bachelor's degree. Software Developer positions at mid to senior levels fit that standard most cleanly, so focus your applications there rather than junior or contractor postings.
Confirm Green Card pathway support during the offer stage
Klaviyo sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 green cards, which require PERM labor certification through the DOL. Ask your recruiter directly whether the specific backend role you're offered is eligible for PERM sponsorship, since not all open positions are designated for permanent residency.
Use Migrate Mate to identify active backend openings at Klaviyo
Sponsorship-eligible roles can open and close quickly at Klaviyo. Use Migrate Mate to filter current Backend Software Developer postings at Klaviyo that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're applying to live opportunities rather than roles that have already closed.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation early
USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims for backend roles when the petitioner's degree is from outside the U.S. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before your offer letter stage so your employer's immigration attorney has documentation ready without delaying your I-129 filing.

Find Backend Software Developer at Klaviyo JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Klaviyo sponsor H-1B visas for Backend Software Developers?
Yes, Klaviyo sponsors H-1B visas for Backend Software Developer roles. The position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Sponsorship is typically offered to mid-level and senior engineers, and your employer files the H-1B petition on your behalf after the USCIS lottery selection.
How do I apply for Backend Software Developer jobs at Klaviyo?
Applications go through Klaviyo's careers page, where backend engineering roles are listed by team and seniority. You can also find sponsorship-eligible Backend Software Developer openings at Klaviyo on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for visa-sponsored positions. The process typically includes a recruiter screen, technical assessments covering system design and coding, and a final round of interviews with the engineering team.
Which visa types does Klaviyo use for Backend Software Developer roles?
Klaviyo sponsors H-1B visas for initial work authorization and supports EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories for employees pursuing a Green Card. Backend engineers already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT are common candidates for H-1B sponsorship. The EB-2 route is more common for senior engineers, while EB-3 covers a broader range of qualified software development roles.
What qualifications does Klaviyo expect for Backend Software Developer roles?
Klaviyo's backend roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related discipline, along with demonstrable experience in Python, distributed systems, or API development at scale. For H-1B sponsorship purposes, your degree must relate directly to the duties of the specific role. Senior positions often expect prior experience with event-driven architectures, data pipelines, or high-availability systems in a production environment.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take with Klaviyo?
The standard H-1B timeline runs from March registration through an October 1 start date, roughly six to seven months from lottery selection to work authorization. USCIS premium processing, which expedites adjudication to around 15 business days, is available and commonly used by technology employers. If you're on OPT with a valid STEM extension, you can bridge the gap between your current authorization and your H-1B start date without interruption.
