Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Nursing Jobs at Methodist Health System Jobs
Get Your Credentials Evaluated Before Applying
International nursing degrees must be evaluated by a CGFNS-recognized credentialing body before Methodist Health System can begin sponsorship. Start this process early. Delays in credential evaluation are one of the most common reasons offers get pushed back.
Obtain Your NCLEX Before the Interview Stage
Methodist Health System expects candidates to hold an active U.S. RN license or be NCLEX-eligible. Passing the NCLEX before you apply signals you're ready to work immediately and removes a major contingency from any sponsorship conversation.
Target Units With Persistent Staffing Gaps
Methodist Health System consistently posts openings in med-surg, critical care, and emergency nursing. Focusing your applications on these high-demand units increases your chances of reaching hiring managers who are motivated to support sponsorship to fill their rosters.
Understand How EB-3 Sponsorship Affects Your Timeline
EB-3 is the most common green card pathway for internationally trained nurses. PERM labor certification and USCIS processing can take two to four years. Clarify during the offer stage whether Methodist Health System initiates the PERM filing concurrently with your H-1B or TN start date.
Clarify OPT Cap-Gap Coverage With HR Early
If you're on F-1 OPT and your program ends before your H-1B start date, cap-gap rules extend your work authorization automatically. Confirm that Methodist Health System's HR team has filed your H-1B petition before your OPT expires to maintain continuous employment eligibility.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Active Nursing Openings
Not all posted roles at Methodist Health System are open to sponsorship candidates. Use Migrate Mate to filter nursing openings by visa type so you're applying only to roles where sponsorship is confirmed, saving time and avoiding dead-end applications.

Find Nursing at Methodist Health System JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Methodist Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Yes, Methodist Health System sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying nursing roles. Because nursing is classified as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria, candidates must hold at least a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) to be eligible. The health system typically files H-1B petitions for nurses who have already cleared NCLEX and hold an active state RN license.
Which visa types does Methodist Health System commonly use for Nursing roles?
Methodist Health System sponsors nurses on H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. For most internationally trained nurses pursuing permanent residence, EB-3 with PERM labor certification is the standard route. TN is a faster option for Canadian and Mexican RNs who meet the visa's nursing qualification requirements.
What qualifications does Methodist Health System expect for sponsored Nursing positions?
Methodist Health System generally requires an active U.S. RN license or NCLEX eligibility, a BSN for H-1B sponsorship, and CGFNS credential evaluation for internationally trained nurses. Clinical experience in your specialty area strengthens your application significantly. Roles in critical care, emergency, and med-surg units may also require specific certifications such as BLS and ACLS.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Methodist Health System?
Use Migrate Mate to browse active nursing openings at Methodist Health System that are open to visa sponsorship candidates. Once you identify a matching role, apply directly through Methodist Health System's careers portal. Include your NCLEX status, credential evaluation, and any current visa documentation upfront so recruiters can quickly assess your sponsorship eligibility alongside your clinical qualifications.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take for Nursing roles at Methodist Health System?
From offer to work authorization, timelines vary by visa type. H-1B standard processing through USCIS takes three to six months, though premium processing can shorten that to 15 business days. TN status for Canadian nurses can be obtained at the border on the same day with the right documentation. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM takes considerably longer, often two to four years from initiation to approval.
